We are testing Blesta as an online customer billing and management system for products and recurring services *unrelated* to web hosting. Blesta,...

We are testing Blesta as an online customer billing and management system for products and recurring services unrelated to web hosting. Blesta, which beat out many other billing packages due to its features, seems to fit the criteria we are looking for due to its Package feature having the ability to set the Module to None.

There are a couple of issues in the way that Blesta handles Invoices and Services that have us stumped. First, when a potential customer enters an order using the Default order form and if the payment fails, the invoice is entered into the system, but there is no payment option in the customer's screen unless the invoice is first approved by an Administrator. In a scenario where a customer is pulled away from their computer after attempting a payment during checkout which failed, as I was, and then they come back later to attempt payment again, they can't; not unless an Administrator has approved the invoice first.

Second, we set Create Services to On Approval under Settings > Order Settings > Order Setup, however, using the scenario above, even when an invoice is on hold awaiting Administrative approval, the Service that is associated with the invoice shows as Active instead of Pending. Whether or not an invoice is paid, we need the Service to show as Pending until a clerk has provisioned the service associated with the order and has shipped the product.

Is there a way to allow a customer to pay their invoice without Administrative approval?
Is there another setting, other than the one mentioned above, to make all services Pending, requiring staff approval?

Thank you!

I am starting the installation. I have unzipped the download. I am watching and listening to the installation video. At the 27 seconds mark, I think...

I am starting the installation. I have unzipped the download. I am watching and listening to the installation video. At the 27 seconds mark, I think what I am hearing is,

"first let's upload our con directory above our public_html"

What is "our con directory?" I've listened 10 times, trying to determine if he is saying "cron" but there definitely is no "r" in what he is saying. But I see no "con" directory in my download.

The video it self is so fuzzy and the screen shot zoomed back so far, and the motion so fast that I can't see what is actually being moved or where it is moved to. Expanding to full screen does not help.

So, I go to the Manual > Installing Blesta > 2 Place the cron directory and its contents above public_html.

So it *is* cron, not con. I go back and listen again. Nope - it definitely says "con" not "cron."

But still I have no clear idea what is wanted.

What does it mean to place "above" the public_html? Does it mean put it in / (root)? If that's what is wanted, why not say that?

Back to the video - nope - even if I am trying to see if that's what iut means, the action moves so fast and is so far zoomed out that it's useless on that point.

I think the problem I am having is that, at this point the video and the manual are both dealing with something that the instructor knows so well that he does not see it that his instructions are unclear to those who have never seen it before.

Looking one step ahead in the manual, it gets even worse . .

"3. Place the ixed directory in the same location as your cron directory. "

But there is no "ixed directory" in my download. I suspect it is not a file name but jargon for a file that has been "ixed" (whatever that is). I've been moving files around almost every day since 1982 and I have no idea what an "ixed directory" is.

I think at this point I have to decide if I am willing to spend time getting instructions on how to understand the instructions. I am sure I sound churlish and I suspect that whoever wrote those instructions is going to be annoyed with me because I am questioning their value.

But please believe me, I am not trying to be difficult. I am lost and frustrated and it ain't my fault.

If I tell you that to get to XYZ, "go down the road for a while and then take a turn where the old school used to be," those inadequate instructions are my fault, not the fault of the person asking for them. I know exactly how far is "down the road." I know if it is a left urn or a right turn. I know where the old school used to be. But I am making unjustified assumptions that you know what I know.

At this point, I doubt I have the patience to continue. If this will be the norm for information delivery, I just can't take the time to parse out the missing details that should have been provided.

Is there any other source of installation instruction other than the video and the manual? Has anyone done a step by step set of screen shots?

The product looks great, but ????

Our site is based on WordPress, thus, we thought it would be a good idea to put Blesta on a subdomain / separate vhost for security purposes. So, what we do is use a ShadowBox to sandbox the Blesta site, bring it up all fancy, and let users go from there (see http://www.shadowbox-js.com/ and go to Tiger picture at the bottom to see how it works with an image. . .same works encapsulating a website). All works fantastic.

The only flaw in this model is that you don't get a browser bar, thus, you can't see the HTTPS nor the "lock icon" that lets a user know they are secure. It is there as our subdomain is HTTPS only but the ShadowBox hides this.

Question: I'd simply like to put a badge or "256bit secure" verbiage with a hyperlink out to our cert information in the order form and checkout cart. What can be customized? I'm not finding the documentation I'm looking for. . .

Assuming that it is, I am not seeing anything in a search using the keyword "enom" that is newer than last October and beyond. Also, I don't see anything in the list of Features or in the demo that informs me on what is done and how it's done in Blesta.
Do I need my own Enom account (with their high up-front investment) or is there something available to integrate it into Blesta?
