Services Configured To Lapse But Still Invoiced

I have a number of domains that a customer chose to allow to lapse, so I configured Blesta to schedule cancellation at the end of the term.  They are flagged this way in Blesta (time clock icon with yellow exclamation mark) but a new invoice was generated for their renewal.  Why?
