Weird I don't get that, however I'm using Softaculous on InterWorx and I get that pesky connection timed out error I seem to always get lol that's normal for me as I have a unstable line it can happen.

Softaculous does however have a new installation page, before you had to install it, then go and install it on the /install/ page not it's a one page install.

Have you had a trial on that subdomain before?

Not sure why it would give an error, but since Softaculous installs with a trial key, if you already had a trial key for that hostname it would cause Blesta to prompt you to enter a valid key. That shouldn't create an error in Softaculous though I don't think. Have you tried contacting their support?

I do see quite a few trial licenses issued through Softaculous today and yesterday that activated fine, so it probably doesn't affect everyone. Interesting.

Problem confirmed in two of our servers with the Latest cPanel + Softaculous (never have installed Blesta or used any trial lisence on this servers)

There are no error logs on softaculous or any outher logs on server that we can lookup to trace the problem.

Maybe is timeout from softaculous because it downloads some packages and it takes a long time to download, and maybe it breaks connection wen downloading.

Sounds like a Softaculous cPanel bug to me.

Hello, this may be a bit late but I hope this info can help.

I came across the same problem with Softaculous and after a couple of tried, I gave up using Softaculous and decided to manually install it.

It turned out that some files (from Blesta) were not writable by the webserver:

The config file = /config/blesta-new.php

directory = /config

That would a issue with the server configuration, you can try manually installing it. If it doesn't work then I recommend you contact your host to see if suPHP is enabled. yourdoman.com/install/ or if you don't have mod re-write installed: yourdomain.com/index.php/install/

suPHP is a dead project.  It has even been removed from testing and future Debian repositories.  Just an FYI.  I ran into this issue installing ISPconfig3.

Short version my fix:  In WHM make sure Blesta isn't predownloaded already, if it is untick.

I had this same error installing 3.6.1 with Softaculous.

Softaculous is setup to download on demand, however an install had already been done on 3.6.0 so the files were downloaded for that.  When I run the install it downloaded 3.6.1 and failed with the informative error:

The following errors were found :

  • Installation Failed

I tried a few more times from the cPanel to install and it kept failing.  I went into WHM Softaculous and removed the tick for Blesta under pre-download, back into cPanel and Blesta installed without a problem.

Seems Softaculous didn't handle the version upgrade properly in my case.
