Use E-Mail Address As Login Id By Default

I saw some code in a thread here which allows this, but I sincerely the default functionality should be built in to let Admins decide whether users can create a username, or whether registrant e-mail addresses should be used by default as login IDs.

This day and age, customers want simple. Killing two birds by allowing a user's e-mail address to be used as their login ID qualifies :)

Thanks!

the above CORE listed by Naja is enough for me, and should resolve these issues when it comes around to it.  Until then, I'll just stick with the code modification to remove the username option.

I'm all for letting the customer choose certain things, but I don't feel the option of what type of username to use really needs to be something they have to worry about picking.  I require all my clients to use their email...just makes things simple.
