hello, i'm using blest otp via google authenticator. but to setup account i have to use qr code, because if i just enter the security key, google authenticator show illegal in security key.

And also after i scan using qr code, it doesn't show what program is this code used for ( i also have gmail and last pass on my authenticator and both of that has label gmail and last pass) but not with blesta.

maybe dev can check it.

sample is on the attachment, the third one is from blesta

thanks.

Normally the token would be stored in Google Authenticator as your username. So, if your username is "John" for example, then it should be listed that way here.

To set it up without scanning the QR code, please see http://docs.blesta.com/display/user/Enabling+Two-Factor Google requires the key to be in hexadecimal format, and that page references a utility for converting it.

yes, i know about it, we can rename. but if we can make something like google or lastpass which have the label above the code will be awesome.

just suggestion from me, maybe a little tweak in qr code generator.

so if we enter manual key we have to convert the key shown on blesta to hexa?sorry, just know it.

thanks

I don't think it needs to myself, because it's done manually, and I prefer taking scans.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm with Chanx, i've been thinking this for months. All of the accounts I have in Google Authenticator have a label for their service and then username is a separate editable field. Blesta doesn't have a label it just has a username field. Yes the username field is editable but that's an unnecessary extra step in UX. It should just come with the label which should be the company name I think...
