Error Smtp (Mail Settings) On Blesta

ariq01

Question

Hello.

i've setup smtp for mail settings on blesta with my sendgrid account.

Based on sendgrid docs : https://sendgrid.com/docs/Integrate/index.html

  • Change your SMTP username and password to your SendGrid credentials
  • Set the server host name to smtp.sendgrid.net
  • Use ports 25 or 587 for plain/TLS connections and port 465 for SSL connections

For most users we suggest port 587 to avoid rate limits set by some hosting companies.

But when i'm try to send email : http://blestafolder/admin/clients/email/1/ , the result : The email failed to send due to a configuration issue.

I've set up mandrill smtp too, but the result is same The email failed to send due to a configuration issue.

Did anyone use smtp for mail settings on blesta?

check if at your web-hosting crontrol panel if there is a global option to prevent sending email and check also your firewall, and connection log for your server

at blesta log, it said Failed to authenticate on SMTP server with username "myemail@gmail.com" using 2 possible authenticators #mandrillsmtp

Is port 587, 465, and 25 egress open at your firewall? That is the most common issue.

Yes it is open. i've check it on http://ping.eu/port-chk/ .

hi serge.

and on blesta log, it said "Failed to authenticate on SMTP server with username "myemail@gmail.com" using 2 possible authenticators".

i hope there are blesta user which use hosted mail transaction like this, and help me to solve this problem :(

it's seem not a conection issue (port, protocol, firewall), but more an authentication issue, so your login credential could be wrong or you have to mention at mandril account the ip/hostname of the remote server (blesta) for it's be allowed.

try also to re-generate your credential at mandrill

also have you white listed mandril ip(s) at your firewall, and flush all previous ip blocked
