Default Most popular billing app takes direction from Blesta

It's a common notion that emulation is the highest form of flattery, and the development team here is feeling pretty flattered. Our good friend Matt of WHMCS has taken inspiration from Blesta and has recently implemented some notable features:

Bar and Pie Graphs
In October Matt announced that PHP graphs were useless. That same month we showed that PHP graphs could be very useful. Less than a week after the Blesta Demo went live with 1.2.0 (graphs included) WHMCS announced Bar and Pie graphs in their next release.

Client Contacts
Blesta has had multiple Client Contacts long before the release of version 1.0, but now WHMCS has them too.

Protx VSP Gateway
Blesta has been offering an open source Protx VSP gateway for Blesta since September, 2007, and this has no doubt been a great help to Matt in recently implementing the same gateway for WHMCS.

Credit Card Expiration Notices
Blesta has offered this feature since the release of 1.0, and it now on the dev list for WHMCS as well.

As Blesta grows in popularity more and more of the ideas it brings to the community will be adopted into other competing applications. This comes as no surprise to the development team here. Make no mistake about it, Blesta is the leader in innovative billing design.

He originally registered under a pseudo name, when we found out it was him we changed his name. We don't mind if he posts here, we just think people should know it is him when he does.

Thats a good one, haha - I must have missed it when I first read your post. Actually, every one uses vBulletin, I'm surprised he didn't upgrade sooner.. but I don't think we can take any credit for that one.

Why would you reference a competitor's product, a shoddy one at that?
If you consider WHMCS "the most popular billing app.", I think we're all in trouble.

Well, I think a lot of people are in trouble, but you are here so there's hope.

As far as web hosting billing goes they are popular, just telling it how it is. Theres a large chasm between most popular and the best, let me illustrate...

most popular (them) |----------------------------------------------------------| best (Blesta)

Personally, I'd go with the best over most popular.

Quite frankly, I'm wary of anyone calling themselves' the best' without backing it up I want a public code audit!

haha!

If its code you seek,.. check out our module and gateway classes. They're unencoded and give *some* insight into our coding practices. No chicken wire or bondo! Just nice, clean, professional code. Even though nobody sees it, clean, well thought out, efficient code makes us happy.
