Does the Maxmind GeoLite Legacy Database Discontinuance affect Blesta?

Question

Hello, regarding this:  https://support.maxmind.com/geolite-legacy-discontinuation-notice/

It appears the workaround is to use GeoLite2

Our GeoLite Legacy databases are being discontinued

We have decided to discontinue our GeoLite Legacy databases effective January 2, 2019. We will stop updating the databases before that date (see “General Information” below), and the databases will no longer be available for download on January 2, 2019. This was a difficult decision for us and we have created this page to provide more information and answer any immediate questions you may have.

But also note, regarding GeoLite2:

    Important Notice for GeoLite2 Users

We have decided to discontinue providing “latitude” and “longitude” with the GeoLite2 City database. Once discontinued, any integration using these keys will no longer return the approximate latitude and longitude of the most granular geolocation returned for the IP queried: postal code, city, subdivision or country. Please take action to update your integration as needed.

Are there impacts on the GeoIP functionality in Blesta?

Thanks in advance

This database will no longer exist on January 2, 2019.  until that date you can use it with blesta.

It sure blesta should take the action to update the integration .

Important dates to consider

To make sure you have plenty of time to transition away from the GeoLite Legacy databases, we will be phasing out the databases gradually leading up to January 2, 2019. Here are some important dates and milestones of which you should be aware:

  • April 1, 2018 – We will cease updating the free GeoLite Legacy downloadable databases. We will also disable free downloads of the GeoLite Legacy databases from the geoipupdate program. Updated versions of the GeoLite Legacy databases will be available to redistribution license customers only.
  • January 2, 2019 – We will remove the databases from the GeoLite Legacy download page and cease updating GeoLite Legacy databases available in the account portal. Additionally, the GeoLite Legacy databases will no longer be available to redistribution license customers.

For additional information about these changes, please visit our Support Center page.
