NETLINK
Hello, I think it would make sense to change the Support links to be more SEO friendly, but more importantly, human friendly. Currently, they are in this format: plugin/support_manager/knowledgebase/index/1/ client/plugin/support_manager/client_tickets/departments/ It would be nice to see them like this: client/support/knowledgebase/index/1/ client/support/tickets/departments/
Michael
-1 they are fine as they are for SEO, been listed in a lot of keywords as it is. It uses the Title and description nothing to do with the URLs. If you want to anyway you can do by making your own routes: http://www.blesta.com/forums/index.php?/topic/1733-short-order-routes/
NETLINK
I agree, but if they can be further optimised, what would speak against it? Google appears to favour shorter URLs over longer ones. More importantly, a marketing study showed that shorter URLs get clicked twice as often as longer ones. And they just look cleaner and are more memorable. I've created the routes, but the longer links will still be rendered unless I also modify the plugin, as I understand it. As for Google I don't believe that's the case otherwise my articles wouldn't get views but the reason they are as they are is because they are plugins and I think it's neat because you know the urls. /plugin_name/whatever/id/ or /name/
Tyson
You can take a look at this thread for an explanation on why the URLs are structured as they are. Essentially, the structure is in its most logical form, and reducing it to a shorter URL as you described could lead to conflicts with other aspects of the system, or to the plugin itself if you were to create arbitrary routes or incorrect overrides. I think for something like this to work effectively, a route manager would need to exist that allowed for the definition of custom simplified URLs, and every link in the system would need to be updated to use it.
