Vestacp + Blesta = Awesome
Bit Bayou reacted to EidolonHost for a topic
Hi, Blesta Devs! It would be awesome if you guys could help the VestaCP developers create a method for Blesta to communicate with VestaCP, or vice versa. VestaCP's website says they already work with WHMCS... though I don't have a WHMCS instance to test this claim. But I would suggest that this might be a good idea to have in place early. Right now though, I'm working on figuring out how to integrate VestaCP with the Universal Module, but it would be amazing to have a VestaCP module directly from the Blesta devs. Sidenote: You guys are amazing. Seriously, amazing.1 point -
We have developed full functionality of Voipswitch through the Blesta. Everything works fine. Big thanks to Blesta! If you guys use the Voipswitch so PM1 point

Ok so this may not ever happen to Blesta but I think it would make this billing system one step further away from the competitiors. I believe it should be an extra module like you pay for it like the Licensing system (In development). Non Admins: You click a client's ID, you are then greeted with a box (Modal) asking you to enter the following: - Client Postcode - Clients Support Password If you click cancel you are re-directed to the client list. If you enter the correct information you can then see the client's account. Just like if you was phoning up Virgin Mobile (UK) or Sprint (US) you are asked for information before they can see your account, if you fail to do so they can't do anything to your account or even see it. However Admins: If you ticked the box on the Access Control List to allow Administrators to bypass Client Protection. They can view the client details just like now, edit their information too. ------------------------------------- However the Support Password is NEVER shown to the administrators, just the client who can change it at any time. - Encrypted to ensure security. They first set it up on registration.1 point

It's a lot of work to make it part of the core software, I wouldn't say the time and effort would be worth releasing it free, which is why I suggested it should be a paid plugin like the licensing system.1 point -
+1 on both. Thank you for making this.1 point

Here's the rundown of import-related issues we're still facing: Prices are incorrect in some modules, especially those with configurable options. A customer with a $100 VPS + $20 panel + $30 management is only being charged $100. Similar to #1, prices that have been discounted by coupon or overridden manually are incorrect. Cody remarked that it might be possible to pull this data out of the "recurring price" field in WHMCS. Customers who have been issued credit at any time in the past in WHMCS are being asked to pay the credit amounts in Blesta. Cody remarked that this one might be fixed. Invoices do not show partial payments / credits. Might be related to #2. "&" symbol in company name in WHMCS translates to "&" in Blesta. Five more to go and then all we have left is some auditing and tweaking, and we're in.1 point -

You can make the packages first, as you can match them in the installation. No need to do the rest as they will be imported so you'll have more than one admin / etc.1 point -
I would like to suggest we have a banned status (We have a Active, Inactive, Fraud Status at the moment) but when a user is classed as Fraud, they can still make support tickets, and I'm not sure if they can make new orders. We don't have any other way of removing rude customers. Eg: False information on account, acted like a immature person opening a ticket in gibberish. Closed ticket, set customer as fraud... Few minutes later another support ticket from that client. In the end had to ban them in the firewall.1 point

So a department-level setting to disable emails from being sent would suffice? I'm not sure how popular this feature would be, though. Perhaps a feature request poll?1 point

No. When the customer views the invoice PDF, it shows no payments at all. It shows a total due of $179.99. But when the customer is logged in, it shows amount = $179.99, paid = $19.02, due = $160.97, with a due date of over a year ago. By all means. WHMCS is horrible at accounting, so we've grown accustomed to never trust its numbers. 9 times out of 10, everything is straightforward with us. But once in a great while, we'll need to apply a courtesy credit or adjust someone's recurring price or do something weird. In WHMCS you simply give it the new value. For myself, I'd rather (NOT for imported data) see Blesta reflect the starting price, then any adjustments (ie, "Recurring FRH Courtesy Credit: -$9.00"), then show the final amount. Then there's never any question as to why a customer is paying a non-standard price. I think there's definitely a place for price adjustments, it's just that WHMCS has virtually no accountability. As you said, it plain sucks at keeping track of money. I'll start a suggestions thread with some accounting ideas that just jumped into my head. I don't think Blesta should be the primary source for bookkeeping, but it already has the information, and if we can take that information and make it usable, then that's just one more thing we can use to reconcile against. Also, just found another issue. A customer has an "&" in their company name, and it's coming across as "&" in Blesta. It's that way in the client area, the PDFs, and the admin side.1 point -

For those of you not seeing tickets imported. Check the support_tickets table in Blesta to see if it's empty. Most likely the reason you don't see any tickets is because the migrator will import your WHMCS admin users and assign them to necessary departments (it does nothing with the user you are currently logged in as). Log out and log back in with your WHMCS admin user (that was imported). Also, double check the Support Manager settings for Support Departments and ensure all of the correct staff users belong to the appropriate staff departments.1 point -

Ugh, I kind of wish someone else was having the troubles I am. Any chance you can shoot me a copy of your my.cnf and php.ini? Are you importing a copy of your full whmcs database, or are you using a smaller test database? email: my username @lithiumhosting.com1 point -

Here's another vote. I think I will be buying Blesta even if it doesn't have all the modules I need right now, just to play with it and try to get it ready as soon as possible for my WHMCS migration.1 point -
You get a list of the cron tasks and can set times for them to run on this page: /admin/settings/company/automation/ I would like to be able to click run now on any one of those tasks and have it run by itself on demand. Mainly this would be useful, for me at least, when I am testing some changes on my demo install or when I make some change that I don't want to wait 24 hours for some task to happen if I could just start it again now.1 point
