The customer placed an order using a referral link, but there are no recorded sales or referrals

The customer placed an order using a referral link, but there are no recorded sales or referrals. The order was made through the link https://exampledomain12.com/blesta/order/forms/a/Nzk= and the payment was successful. However, the affiliate overview indicates 5 clicks, 0 total sales, and both mature and pending referrals are at 0.

In the client's affiliate settings, the following configurations are in place:
- Order frequency: any
- Order recurring: checked
- Commission type: fixed
- Excluded package: unchecked for the packages intended for affiliates

What could be wrong with my setup? Is there another setting I might have overlooked?

Hello,  
After testing with both new and existing customers, I've observed the following:  
Existing customers who are already registered cannot use their own referral links to make sales. In contrast, new customers who have not registered before can make sales using their own referral links once they sign up.  
What can be done to enable existing customers to make sales with their own referral links ?
