What is Best Way to Secure Blesta on a Server ?

========

After installing with in a public_html folder, I created a sub-domain, and then I moved it outside of the public_html folder.

At this point, the URL just kept loading over and over in the browser.

Even though I was using a sub-domain.

========

Is this occurring because I originally activated my license using a "regular" URL, on an install that was originally inside the "public_html" folder ?

Why would you move Blesta outside of the public_html? That means you can't access it in a browser? Or are you using cPanel which has a subdomain.domain.com folder outside?

I mentioned earlier that I was using a sub-domain .

But then the URL kept loading / looping over and over in the browser.

You mentioned a subdomain but you didn't tell us how that subdomain looks because you said out of public_html.

EXAMPLE:

supportweb.mywebsitename.com

Meh I'm talking about: /home/username/sub.domain.com/(public_html) or /home/username/public_html/sub/ since if you're using cPanel you get a choice, if you are using Plesk or InterWorx it's got it's own area. Anyway what happens when you remove the .htaccess?

Using C-Panel

What is your recommendation for the domain setup ?

Let me know.

I will test this out again and see what happens.

Thanks.

I used to have my billing area on a separate account, so it was in it's own public_html.

What should my path look like if I have a sub-domian like...

supportweb.mywebsitename.com

AND...

The files are outside of "public_html" ?

Back in my day you had subdomains making their own folder so sub.domain.com would be /home/username/public_html/sub/ or make your own account where it would be /home/username2/public_html/

OK.

I "successfully" created a sub-domain and moved my files outside of the "public_html" folder.

I went to the Admin login so that I could insert the Path via  Settings > System > General .

And it says, that my "License Key is invalid"

So I cannot even login.

================

EXAMPLE of Key format :

owned-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

================

EXAMPLE Directory Path is :

/home/username/supportweb.websitname.com/subfolder

Have you re-issued your license since it will be locked to the old location?

RESOLVED

Awesome.

Looks like RE-issuing the license via my Account resolved ALL my issues :

Dashboard --> Services --> Manage --> Manage License --> Reissue License --> Update License Status

Such as with the URL looping in the browser.

Thanks.
