Blesta Addons Posted May 22, 2015 Report Posted May 22, 2015 is supper if blesta add option to allow the admin setup a Convenience fees for every gateway , that way the customer pay this fees . this can be against some laws , but is not in all countries . a option to enable/disable will be great . if you running a huge buseniss client based , this small fees can be a big obstacle for making some competitive prices . the problematic , is that the fees is not unified in all gateways , so we can't make a price in consideration with this fees . Michael Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 it's a really hard subject, because PayPal don't allow it, even though some companies bypass it calling it tax or something else, but you can loose your account. Some countries don't allow it. I suppose you could ask if the modules can allow it? so you can add code to apply it, but it shouldn't be in the core. Simply because of the laws and rules and what each gateway allows / refuses.
serge Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 +1 and there are thousand payment gateway in the street or specific for given country, so not just paypal. In my opinion, this feature is related to the way blesta could work as an option and not related to a given payment gateway

Michael Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 so big brand as resellerclub is breaking the paypal rules ? they add the fees to the amount funded ! Yep they are if PayPal finds out, just takes one person to do it. http://www.blesta.com/forums/index.php?/topic/1477-stripe-coupons/?p=11798 https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/How-to-use-PayPal-Archive/Can-a-Seller-Charge-Buyers-a-Paypal-Fee/td-p/19050 http://community.ebay.com/t5/Archive-PayPal/Can-a-seller-charge-a-3-fee-to-the-buyer-if-you-use-Paypal-for/qaq-p/11862017
PauloV Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 +1 We can call the feea what ever we want this way will not be against the rules like in PayPal For exemple we can call it "Service Activation Fee" or "Payment Verification Fee" and it will be impossível to be against any rule
Max Posted June 30, 2015 Report Posted June 30, 2015 it's a really hard subject, because PayPal don't allow it Only if you are American. Paypal Europe does allow them. Not withstanding that charging a surcharge is usually more pain than it is worth. Keep in mind that you also have to collect sales tax over any extra charges likes this, and if the invoice was generated already (e.g. when it is a renewal invoice, and you didn't know the payment method when that was created), you may have to write out a separate second invoice just for the charges, as you are not allowed to change any existing invoice... Bloody PayPal haha, should be universal or not at all. And never knew that about the charges too, so learnt that today

Paul Posted July 28, 2020 Report Posted July 28, 2020 https://dev.blesta.com/browse/CORE-2305 Does this work? The idea is to have a discount or a fee associate with each. So you could charge an extra 3% for PayPal, or charge 20% less with Bitpay for example.

bahjons Posted December 8, 2023 Report Posted December 8, 2023 I need to see or have the ability to add gateway/transaction fees per gateway before I can move to Blesta. That really looks like the only thing holding me back. WHMCS's upcoming price increase is a killer. How soon can you make this happen?
