Difference between "service creation" email and "welcome email"?

Setting up products, you have the ability to set a welcome email per service.

But in the email templates, you also have a "service created" email

Why are there 2 emails for the same thing? And does the customer get all these emails on signup : 

- Account Creation

- Service Creation

- Welcome Email

- Invoice Due / Paid

If so, that's a lot of emails for a signup...

If I'm not mistaken, they receive 'Account Creation', 'Service Creation / Welcome Email' (as one combined email) and 'Invoice Due / Paid'.

Our template for 'Service Creation' is {package.email_html} which would pick up the contents of the 'welcome email'. I think 'Service Creation' is there if you want to have a generic message that gets attached to the Welcome Email for every package but I've honestly never paid close attention! It does sound confusing though. docs.blesta.com says this about the Service Creation and other email templates in that section: By default, these templates usually don't have to be modified, but it's a good idea to review them in detail anyway.

So if I want them to get only 1 email upon signup (the account creation + welcome email) - without getting invoice/service created, how do i do that?

Second : If they order an additional service later on, how can they receive only the welcome email of that service?

Don't quote me on this but I believe if you put this in your 'Service Created' email template, they will only receive one email with the contents of the Email created under the Package itself: {package.email_html}. That's the way we have it setup and when I receive a copy of it, I only receive 1 email.

I'm sure Licensecart can verify this real soon.

You are correct and do the same for {package.email_text}.

thanks guys. how can i prevent blesta from sending invoice due/paid emails upon service creation? 

If they're ordering a new service, they're already on the checkout screen. And if they don't complete it, well.. they don't. Maybe they'll come back later, or we can see which orders are in incomplete status and send them a better email than "invoice due".
