  1. I thought I'd mention, I just installed Blesta on a real webhosting, and experienced one small error; it said "License Key invalid" but allowed me to finish and select Trial nonetheless.
  2. Wow thank you Paul. I will look more into how that would work on a real host, including writing to my hosting provider but I really appreciate being able to study this.
  3. I have an issue while trying to create a Package, in that the form is asking for a Module option to be given. A screenshot is attached. Kind regards I just added CPanel, but of course I'd need to specify a Module option for a CPanel package:) So I'm wondering from a general standpoint, how that might work with my wholesale web hosting since I can order products from my web host, change the assigned domain names for those packages but I don't know how to do that via CPanel as I've only ever done it via my web hosts' website.

    Client error

Hi Paul and Michael, Too late, I've re-installed again, good practice I'm sure. One thing I did find though, is there any reason I need to create a database each time I install it? I try to select all columns and Empty, but it says database needs to be empty. Also, what is the best encoding to use for the database. Thanks again P.S. I have switched to PHP 5.6 and re-installed ionCube

    Client error

Hello, I am getting the following error: when trying to log in as a client. session_regenerate_id(): Failed to create(read) session ID: user (path: ) when trying to log in as a client.
  6. I've done that but there is still the problem with the final page, which is absent of styling and markup. Also, is there any way to omit that section to register for a domain as I'd not be wanting to offer that service to begin with.

Hi Michael, I just had a look at https://licensedemo.com/ but was logged in as "Bill Lang" i.e. client, so is there an admin demo as well?
  8. Paul, It was just the Shared Hosting ajax template (4th one along) and "General" as the type as there is no web-hosting specific group. If I select "domain and other" as the type, it requires a group; which I created but now when I click on the form it asks to look for a domain. If I skip the domain lookup step, it then takes to me to a page with the following markup: <html><head></head><body><div class="navfix"></div> <div class="col-md-10"> <div class="section-title"> <h3>Clients</h3> <p class="format">Select a package and then configure it down below.</p> </div> </div> <div class="col-md-2"> </div> <div class="clearfix"></div> <div class="clearfix"></div> <hr> <div class="col-md-6" id="package-config"></div> <div class="col-md-6" id="order-summary"></div> <div class="col-md-12 noindent" id="create-account"></div> <script type="text/javascript"> var base_uri = '/'; var order_label = 'web-hosting'; </script> <script type="text/javascript" src="/plugins/order/views/templates/ajax/javascript/order.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { // Initialize package selection initPackages([]); // Fetch initial configuration fetchConfig('<!DOCTYPE html> <html lang="en"> <head> <meta charset="utf-8"> <title>Blesta</title> <link rel="stylesheet" href="/app/views/errors/css/application.min.css"> <link rel="stylesheet" href="/app/views/errors/css/font-awesome.min.css"> </head> <body> <div class="error-container"> <div class="program-error"> <div class="panel panel-default panel-simple"> <div class="panel-heading"> <h3><i class="fa fa-exclamation-circle"></i> Something went wrong.</h3> </div> <div class="panel-body"> <p> Undefined variable: package_id </p> </div> </div> </div> </div> </body> </html> </script></body></html> however no styles are applied and no package is available.
  9. I've done that. Files does not exist: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ampps\www\quicksite\plugins\order\views\templates\ajax\cart.pd Regarding the login, I am only using localhost at this stage, I can set up proper hosting for at least a month to continue on with testing and configuration (I have access to wholesale hosting) unless you use LogMeIn or equivalent but I understand your time would be of the essence considering the development workload and staffing requirements of yourself. I checked ifor the .pdt file in both the 3.62 and 4.0 beta packages but nothing so far. I will used a program to search now. Thank you very much for your assistance thus far.
  10. Clicking label brings up a blank page. If you have time, I'd be happy to allow that. Let me know which software you'd prefer to use, I have it running right now, admin in Chrome, client in Firefox
  11. I created an order form using the Shared Hosting template, however when I attempt to view it either as a client or admin nothing is shown and there is no source, only preview is available which unfortunately tells me nothing as it is only an image of the form I suspect taken as a screen capture and not rendered.
  12. Hi, I use a CMS called Perch (also of British fame) and am endeared to it very much where at least one client is concerned and would not really want to consider using anything else for anyone bar myself however as I have read in various places to do with Blesta, integration with popular platforms such as Wordpress and Joomla presents problems so I am wondering if anyone has any experience with that (perch) platform and integrating it with Blesta billing software. Perch is designed to work with existing sites, with pages being able to be created with no interference from the CMS; using as little or as much code as you like, which is its' primary strength but of course I'd need another license were I to start a new website for myself hence my exploration of the Blesta CMS plugin. Ongoing charges as far as Blesta is concerned aren't really the problem, it is how to get a full website front-end up and running, which consequently I have not developed so while I could use many of the templates I have already made in Perch; starting off on the right foot in this instance is paramount. I was thinking of using something like Get Simple but again if Blesta will cut it in this regard, why would I bother? Thanks for any information

    Portal Plugin

I think the idea is perfect. I've been doing some research on various systems, including WHSuite (open source, not finished) and Nukern (SaaS) as well as WHMCS, HopeBilling and others and found that this is the only one that does not encrypt their code, except where ionCube is concerned for security. The only concerns I have are how billing may or may not work on a monthly basis but I will save that for another post. Regarding the CMS, I am thinking of going month-to-month and buying the CMS plugin, and later getting a permanent license but there will be more questions there as well In Australian dollars, it's alot to spend on a single item even though unlimited support and updates is obviously the way to go since I'd doubt you could upgrade the difference (another question perhaps). Anyway, my trial is currently working on localhost but what I wanted to do was actually test any CMS functionality but alas it is just a plugin so I wonder if that functionality can ever be native to the software, as a more advanced way of hosting a website with the "additional" functionality of providing billing, domain, hosting and account services. Cheers

To add, I found this: https://marketplace.blesta.com/#/extensions/4-BlestaCMS which looks to be more of what I'm looking for. Reading into that, while I'd prefer the functionality to be inbulit I do understand enough about the development process and the fact remains there is *no* other billing system that has anything close to this kind of functionality since I truly dread the idea of integrating a CMS with a billing system, particurlarly when I have 1 or less client(s).

Hi, I found the following: that allows you to create custom pages in the CMS however for some reason when I go to the client page from the CMS tab, it wants to log me in as a user so is this how it is supposed to work? I have never used Host Billing software before and while I have specific requirements in mind, I feel it should not assume that I am wanting to look at the page as a client. Thanks for the assistance thus far
  16. I increased the max_execution_time and it appears to be fixed:)
  17. Hi, I am trying to install Blesta on localhost (I have changed the localdomain) but I am getting a timeout: ( ! ) Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in C:\Program Files (x86)\Ampps\www\blesta\app\models\license_manager.php on line 379 I have installed ioncube as per PHP7, which is operational but I cannot get past this particular problem. I am using the current version of AMPPs and Blesta 4 I am wondering if there is there any fix in a later beta or should I try 3.6.2 in order to become familiar. Thanks for any help or assistance
  18. Cheers Paul, looking very forward to trying this out
  19. Hi, I managed to add an entry for the hostname (I am using uniform server portable since I have no idea how to use virtual directories in Apache). The package I use is AMPPS so if anyone has any information on configuring a virtual server for that, I will appreciate that but will happily go ahead with a standalone setup. I've downloaded 3.6.2 but would I be able to try the beta instead? Will send you a PM for a trial license key. Thank you very much
  20. Hi, I am interested in the Blesta hosting and domain billing system however from reading the fourm, I believe I can test it locally in order to examine code. My question therefore is, if I change my hostname from "localhost", would I be able to access it in a sub-folder, e.g. examplehost/blesta so I can login and look around? I have looked at competing systems, and while they have a trial, and montly charges; the real issue is starting with the correct software since I have not found anything other than this that offers any promise so far that I can code at home and upload at a later time since if I was to purchase a lifetime license, I'd be wanting to integrate with an existing site so that the look for customers is consistent and able to be reworked namely CSS and additional HTML or removal of code when needed. Does Blesta allow any of these things or is it like some kind of Wordpress where you are fighting against templates? Further to my original question, I have read in the forum that your software can be installed via CPanel, so if after 30 days I have not fully evaluated, i.e. I am not billing anyone can a trial be extended? If possible, it would mean I'd not have to mess with localhost and would simpy need to pay for my hosting. I ask because my main focus is front end coding, otherwise I am happy to base a site around Blesta instead if that is an option as client websites (only one at present) are the true examples of my work and not the billing domain and website. Regards
