We are working on domain management, but it's a big task and we didn't want it to prevent us from releasing other smaller items. We'll continue pushing out regular updates, and include the domain management system as soon as it's ready. We'll reach out to all of you for testing once we get to that point. :blesta:

Will it be in the first stable 4.1 release?

Officially, you'd need an unbranded license to do that. Reason being is that we could get a lot of requests for what would be acceptable to change it to with a branded license. So with a branded license, officially, it should be unchanged. With that said, if you do change it to that, it's not likely anyone is going to complain.

    Awesome, thanks for your reply.

    Perhaps use Slack instead?

I wouldn't prefer Slack, just because I rather not have a single account for each community I'm in. The same reason I'm still using IRC for FOSS software, which mostly already moved to Slack but still have an IRC bridge running.

  3. Oh, darn - a year later, I'm still interested when Blesta 4.1 makes it (with domain management). I'm still a big fan of IRC (now the chat is gone too), but unfortunately I haven't received a reply yet on my other question:

Is it okay to trade the copyright blesta in a branded license, to a "We're a proud user of Blesta" in the footer for example?

  4. @naja7host Looking nice, but that won't solve anything, unfortunately. It's just domain management, managing hundreds/thousands of domains in the same time, changing nameservers, DNS, get EPP codes, manage WHOIS info and much, much more.

  5. I think one big disadvantage of Blesta is domains in general. WHMCS isn't great in it either, but Blesta simple sucks in it. The additional requirements you've listed there is just 1% of the features that needs to be build it, to let Blesta rock with domains.

And, the WHMCS support indeed sucks, but I haven't heard great noises about Blesta either (although, I didn't experience this - yet, just becuase I didn't but anything yet).

  6. Dear Blesta users,

Is there any IRC server/channel where Blesta users/developers are in? This would be awesome and make Blesta so much more fun to use and support.

After that: I'm may buy a unbranded license when 4.1 is out (cuz the domain management is really important for my company), but is for a branded license also allowed to have something on all your pages that sates that we're a proud user of Blesta (instead of the copyright things)? On this way I could support Blesta, without the extra costs.

    Thanks,

  7. Hmm, this is in some cases (colocation or dedicated servers) mostly a must. What about a cancellation period? For example, the customer must cancel the contract 3 months in advance of the cancellation date (so still pay 3 months, after his contract/commitment has been "expired"). Is that something to be added to this feature, or shall I open a new FR for this?

When the customer cancels his contract before his commitment is expired, the cancellation date should be the end of the commitment (if the date is 3 months in advance of the end commitment date).

  8. Hey Blesta (users),

Is there any way to have "contracts" in Blesta? For example, a client could buy something for a year (with contract, for example a dedicated server) but pay monthly.

When cancelling this service through the GUI, he should only be able to cancel it after the contract. This with custom options (for example, 2 month in advance of the end, else it will be extended with a year).

And does it support when clients buys a dedicated server, they may cancel it monthly, but with one month cancellation period.

    Thanks.

  9. Hello,

I'm currently developing a non merchant gateway for Blesta, where I can't get the following implemented:

The gateway where I'm developing this for requires currencies to be activated (manually, by contract), and I'd like to check this when the user is saving the settings (in the `editSettings` function). Now: What is the best way to receive the accepted currency? I've tried to get the gateway ID but this doesn't seems to work (by overriding the `setGatewayId` function), so I was able to get the currencies through `getCurrencies` in the `Gateway Manager`.

Is there any other way instead just writing a query manually like through the Gateway Manager or something?

    Thanks,

    Wouter

  10. Today I started developing our custom code for Blesta, because we're coming from WHMCS where we created much custom code for. Now, I see this "bad" (when I compare it to WHMCS) domain management, I can't continue to switch to Blesta because of this.  :(

I hope a better domain management will being implemented in the near future. I don't think you'll need to do this per module, which will get very messy over time (all different way's of handling things).

My ideas for the domain management, which you may consider while implementing this:

    - Centralized WHOIS information over multiple registries, with ability to "override" this for a specific domain by the customer.

    - Centralized nameservers over multiple registries, with ability to "override" this for a specific domain by the customer.

    - Proper transfer handling (including a cron).

    - TLD syncing with automated price updates

    - WHOIS through the preferred registry for a TLD

    - Some TLD's have different requirements (e.g. a domain needs to be renewed x days before expiry).

    Thanks!
