Direct Admin Not Working

mercuryhosting

Question

We have installed the latest version of Blesta on a server running DirectAdmin. We hooked up the stripe payment gateway, Namecheap for domains and are now starting to try and get together our hosting packages so that we can officially launch.

Unfortunately, when we hooked Blesta up to DirectAdmin, it doesn't seem to want to work very well. It hooked up just fine, but in creating a package, the DirectAdmin drop down doesn't produce anything which means that we can't assign an IP or package type and finish creating a purchasable package on our end. I'm not entirely sure how to go about fixing this as without it, I won't be able to use Blesta.

It sounds as if Blesta is not able to communicate with DirectAdmin in order to fetch the packages and IPs. This is usually a credentials issue--double check that your username, password, and host name are indeed correct, and that there is no white-space before or after them.

It could also be that your DirectAdmin server doesn't have any packages setup for the account type (User or Reseller) you're using.

I definitely have everything set up properly in regards to the hostname, password and username. It allows me to choose between a shared IP or Assigned IP if I click on reseller only (nothing pops down if I have user selected). However, it has no DirectAdmin packages even though I have both reseller packages and user packages that I would like to use.

The "Shared" and "Assign" IP options for Reseller account types are set by Blesta--it doesn't fetch these via the DirectAdmin API since they are static.

I still think there is some issue with connecting to DirectAdmin--user credentials, connection blocked by firewall, package configuration problem, etc.

I plan to add in some logging of DirectAdmin packages that are fetched, as currently nothing is logged for those API requests. Once added, you can at least check the logs to see what DirectAdmin responds with, and this should give us a better idea of what's going on.

What version of Blesta and the DirectAdmin module are you using?
