Documents For Module Creation Developers

Hello Blesta team,

 

We are blesta module creators for many clients, and we find it difficult for new developers to develop it as documentation is poor. Have you taken any step on creating good documentation?

What specific type of documentation are you looking for?  What's missing?  I've always considered their documentation to be quite detailed.

What i want is to know is, how i can create view files for a module?

 

I guess editting core files of blesta is bad, and we have to add all view files inside view folder, right?

We can add any view file? How to add it? Also i want to call an api from a function, what should be the function  name for that ?

What i was trying is, just editting the cpanel module instead of creating new one from scratch, is it good method or should start from scratch?

If you can provide a dummy module code that will be nice too.

There is dummy code for each module method and some getting started with modules documentation. What other information would you like to see?

It's always good to start from scratch, otherwise you'll need to go through the module later to remove extraneous functionality, views, language definitions, etc. that are specific to the other module you copied from, but not to your new one.
