Gift Cards / Gift Certificates

Hello,

 

We would like to have a Gift Card / Gift Certificate module for Blesta.

 

This is something that we would like to see very soon.  If someone could write this it would be great.

 

Another thing that we can do if possible would be to modify the card reader that checks the card format and modify it to look for cards that also start with 7xxx xxxx xxxx xxxx or cards that start with 8xxx xxxx xxxx xxxx. (x = a number [0-9])

 

We have an internal database that will will use to assign these cards numbers, so we really don't need card number generation.  I would just like to allow customer to enter in 7xxx and 8xxx cards numbers.

 

How can we modify the card format checker to allow these types of cards number?  

This can be a temporary solution, until a Gift Card / Gift Certificate module is created.

 

Is anyone interested in making a Gift Card / Gift Certificate module for Blesta?

Would be a nice idea if there was a plugin, so it could top up a number / use the card like promotion codes and auto-Generated and stored into a Blesta database (for people without a database, as you could import the numbers / etc from a CSV file.

You can't modify credit card handling to be used for gift cards. This is why Visa/MasterCard have created debit gift cards. You would need an entirely separate payment handling process to deal with gift cards, or use a payment processor that supports them.
