Packages Not Using Clients Currency

alleyoopster

Question

Hi,

I ran into a similar problem some time ago and ended up having to not use multi currency and manually defining packages in each currency. Now After watching http://www.blesta.com/2012/05/04/blesta-3-0-currencies-video/ I tried to set up my packages to use multi currency.

Steps:

  1. Current Setup: I set the default currency at GBP and Use Package Pricing for New Services Only ? Unchecked.
  2. Create Package: I then added a package for a domain specifying the default currency at 10.00 GBP for 1 year and saved. My understanding as per video is that if there are no other currency used then it will convert to the required one for the client.
  3. Client, New Service: I then tried adding a package to a client with EUR as default currency, but the package only shows up as GBP and does not bill in EUROS.

Expected behaviour: The currency is offered and billed in the clients currency not the package currency.

many thanks,

Dan

Hi,

I think I must be missing something so I have taken shots of all screens I am using to be clear. The client order form and the client "Add Service" (bottom 2 shots) only gives GBP the default and I am expecting it to be in the clients preferred currency of EUR.

thanks

Add service only shows GBP in drop down:

Hi,

On an order form I tried with nobody logged on, admin and a client with EUR preferred currency. All give the same result.

As an admin should I not be able to click on a client and add a service that will then be in the clients preferred currency as per the screen shot (second from last)?

Teamviewer may work, but I have run out of time tonight, so I'll get back to you with that - thanks for the offer.

It could be something simple but without seeing the set-up in person with you I can't see what might be causing it :).

Invoices for new services are created in the currency of the selected term/pricing.

Is Blesta able to convert the default currency (entered in term/pricing) to the clients currency when an admin adds a service? I would like the clients invoice to be in EUR. At the moment if I add a service for a client manually as admin the invoice is in GBP - which is not the clients currency. (If I manually change the invoice after adding the service it does not convert, it just changes the currency keeping the same amount. )

What you could do is allow EUR to be accepted on the order form so that they can select that currency, which would then perform the pricing conversion and allow them to checkout in EUR.

I have EUR accepted on the order form as per:BeZIc7r.png

Only GBP is an option on the order form:

You're looking in the wrong place for the currency it's in a dropdown box above the content.

I'm now getting inconsistent results. When I first tried using the dropdown above the content nothing changed. I tried again and it worked. I have tried a 3rd time and once again would not update content. I tried on 2 browsers.

Would you mind looking at a temporary order form  and see if it behaves for you? africa.com is the one to test as it has only GBP price/term set .

Maybe this problem relates to the problem of manually adding a service also. It seems something in my config is not happy.

I don't see it on yours or mine... Ah I think you have found a feature request. I don't think the domain order form has the currency dropdown like the general one. I'll get Paul when he's on to check it for me to confirm it three times.

It's a couple of screens in after checking for domain name. (I'm testing with africa.com and is the only one I have setup with multi currency, all the others have defined prices in all currencies)

You don't need to set different currency it does it by the dropdown & exchange rates. And if you are using GBP as default and don't change the currency via the dropdown the other currency prices won't show.

As I said the dropdown is sometimes working, sometimes not.

The order form is one issue and the Add Service as an admin is the other and the main issue at the moment, though I think they maybe linked.

That is what I expect to happen, to set a GBP price (which is my default) for a domain and then each client will get invoiced in their own currency which is converted at the exchange rate. I have used Clientexec and WHMCS which has moulded my experience of how this should work. Looking at the video (link in first post) and setting it up as suggested, it does not seem to work this way. The order form does seem to work sometimes, but my main test and what I really want to get working is to be able to Add Service to a client when I am logged in as administrator and see them invoiced for the service in their preferred currency.  I think it either a config issue, something I am doing wrong or it just isn't possible with the current version.  What actually happens is the price used is the Term Price which is GBP. I believe this is the same behaviour for all package types, but certainly for domains.

The admin site only does the default price as stated above. The issue I see here is the domain order doesn't have a currency dropdown menu as I said above.
