  1. Just so i understand this.. he wants something that allows random people to enter a domain, and see if the license is valid for that domain? Is that the main feature missing from Blesta's licensing module vs this service?
  2. I really like this suggestion, it's unfortunate it takes a lot of work to do this though, for not much gain. In terms of UI, a user should never be able to see options that are not available to them. I wouldn't mind seeing this in a future version, but it's not urgent.
  3. To add a counter-balance, i prefer on-click. It's more user friendly. With a hover, you risk missing what you want to ciick (see current 3.6 implementation as an example)
  4. Don't have the time to play with beta today, but I took note of this and wanted to ask... Does 4.0 still contain that weird dropdown for payment options on the invoice payment page? While trying to customize that page, i was told the dropdown can't be removed, or else card payments wouldn't work, and without icons, paypal can't be used. I prefer a uniform UI, so I'm hoping 4.0 natively fixes this, or allows us to customize that section more.
  5. FYI : My questions are not about being picky. I realize now you're a college student, so I hope this is more of a learning experience for you, and for other module developers. When you run a business that holds other peoples' critical data, it's extremely important to vet everything that touches or can affect that data. You just had the misfortune of having me interested in your module and these questions asked of you. But I'd ask these questions from any module developer that handles critical functions. Module developers should recognize you don't just cowboy code something, slap on a bit of UI and it's good to go. Businesses don't work that way. In my own environments, there's development, alpha, staging, and then production servers. And at each step, everything is checked over and over how any change interacts with other software on the server. And then there's the security, VPN, 2 factor, 1 time token codes, IP geolocation.. because it's data. Peoples' data and livelihoods, and you never take a chance with that.
  6. I'll put my money where my mouth is Can we expect continued development of this module? Especially the customization options like using snapshots, or allowing customers to take snapshots, etc
  7. Awesome - I'm not a coder, but from what I know, these people sign NDA's and can be held legally responsible if code leaks out. There has to be some sort of trust, but an NDA is a good way to protect each party too. When it comes to running a business and the implications involved, I'm very strict with what runs where. Never take that personally, it's a business thing. Anything that even remotely touches something that can cripple the business needs to be vetted in some fashion. I look forward to the results!
  8. Ugh guys. This is bordering on the ridiculous. All I asked was if he could get his code reviewed so those purchasing the module can have a good amount of trust that obvious exploit vectors are checked and eliminated he said "no, costs too much" end of story as far as I'm concerned. I'd love a vultr module, but not at the cost that the module could be exploited in an obvious way and wreck the business no one is attacking anyone. I asked a question
  9. I wasn't saying you would do that at all. I'm saying a customer signs up, the module provisions their vps on vultr. What stops them from hijacking the module via sql injection or whatever the cool new way to hack into things is, and taking over functions of the vultr account? That's what I'm most concerned about. Same thing with other modules like cPanel Extended, and others where there's a possibility of a hack. Nothing is 100% hack proof, so all i'm asking for is if there is a way to have someone else review the code for you, a second set of eyes that could catch something obvious that 99.999% of the hackers would know how to do. And for the 0.001% chance of being hacked, well, we all live with that risk and mitigate it as much as possible.
  10. Mike, can you move this over to feature requests? Don't really feel like re-writing it
  11. Thanks for the info 1 - I'll have to look into this more. Currently, a module like cPanel Extended was modified and the entire thing looks different than it does stock. No icons, etc. - Is this the same with yours? Sorry, I'm just not 100% sure how it would match Blesta is all. There has to be an interface the customer uses, right? 2 - Good to know. 3 - Great 4 - Honestly... yes. If I'm going to trust a module that accesses the Vultr account that has access to all vm's, and it has the capability to terminate/suspend/create.. that's a huge, huge huge issue of trust. I need to know there are no obvious holes in the module that would allow a customer to hijack it and connect to other vm's. Part of this is the Vultr API, but the credentials to connect to that API are stored in the module. I don't code, so when I suggest an audit, it's just a suggestion. Another one would be talk to the Blesta guys, get them to review it. I don't know. But module security should be a very important aspect of all this. Don't take this personally I'm super interested in the module, but if I'm going to trust it by giving access to Vultr like that, there needs to be some sort of check and balance in place
  12. I'm very big on UI. I've had every plugin currently in use for Blesta custom themed to fit my blesta install. Is there a way to do this with your encoded module? And when I talk modification, it's not just colours - it's placement, looks, amount of clicks to do X and Y. Also, what are the current features for the module? Can it load a custom snapshot from Vultr? I have a few there with custom init scripts to simplify setup and clustering. Will it support hourly billing eventually? How is the security of this module? Has it been peer-reviewed, or reviewed by a third party? I'm interested in this one. Just need to know a bit more about it before plunking down the recurring cash for it. Edit : Is there a way for this module to get the ip data back from vultr, and send it to another module (let's say a monitoring module)?
  13. Hmmm, not without breaking any nda's. I'll try to draw one up with my amazing drawing skills. I'll be back in a few years But really, what I'm looking for is the data. Worst case scenario, Blesta can just export that data in a csv file or something and then we can graph it ourselves easily with some custom built excel templates. What would you need to know from me? The calculations? the type of data? I'm happy to help, just not sure what you're looking for
  14. ...bump? Any way to get this on the roadmap at some point? At least for me, and i assume anyone with decent revenue, this is critical to know for business ops.
  15. I want to offer a free addon / option on certain plans. How can I make blesta automatically "checkmark" that addon during the order process? It's more of a marketing thing, so you say "hey you get this thing for free! its value is actually X dollars, but you get it for free!" type of thing. And it's automatically checked as enabled. And of course, because this option has an internal cost, i'd like it to be charged/credited properly on the invoice and reports. How can I do this?
  16. what are some of the things we should be focusing on? I don't mind setting up a pure dev license and importing some data into it and then running it as if it were production but without any outgoing emails or notices
  17. Is there a way to make the invoice due email aware of which package it's sending the email for? I want to add a small icon, which is unique to each package, in the invoice email to make it look nicer. Can this be done?
  18. this is very useful for unauthorized account access changes. These happen, sadly, and there needs to be a way to know who changed an email address and login, as soon as it happens so staff can check and compare ip addresses and validity, and lock the change to verify the identity if something seems weird. alternatively, you can just stop the customer from changing any information without opening a ticket. I suppose that's a kind of valid way to do this too
  19. thanks guys. how can i prevent blesta from sending invoice due/paid emails upon service creation? If they're ordering a new service, they're already on the checkout screen. And if they don't complete it, well.. they don't. Maybe they'll come back later, or we can see which orders are in incomplete status and send them a better email than "invoice due".
  20. Thanks for the help. So if I want them to get only 1 email upon signup (the account creation + welcome email) - without getting invoice/service created, how do i do that? Second : If they order an additional service later on, how can they receive only the welcome email of that service?
  21. Nah, it gets sent to the customer. Tested it just now
  22. Setting up products, you have the ability to set a welcome email per service. But in the email templates, you also have a "service created" email Why are there 2 emails for the same thing? And does the customer get all these emails on signup : - Account Creation - Service Creation - Welcome Email - Invoice Due / Paid If so, that's a lot of emails for a signup...

he's just very protective of blesta and lacks tact, you have to skip past that aspect of mike Paul is making the change to the documentation. In all fairness, it was an honest oversight, one that virtually most companies make when it comes to software relying on other requirements. Like the original starcraft says "windows 95 or later" but i'm pretty sure it won't run on windows 10 without some work. I just don't think this is something to be that frustrated about.
  24. It's a good idea. Just make sure you're allowed to do this with your merchant agreement. For example, Visa, Mastercard, Amex specifically say you aren't allowed to add extra charges if a person pays via credit card vs debit card. The flip side is that you ARE allowed to offer discounts to people who pay via debit / cash. So just be sure about this before implementing it, if Blesta gets it done
