HI Guys,

 

Currently we have a install of v3 installed and one of 2.5, the plan is to backup our v2 data base and remove any business customers we have and imput the data over to v3.

 

Later on we are planning to have an additional company added and after restoring the V2 database and removing the customers that were migrated over to v3 is to input my business customers on a different company would that cause any conflicts in V3 when bring the customers over.

 

We will only be doing as our business customers have a different payment terms than our home users.

Your best option would be to import them over, get the multi-company addon license, set that up, and re-make their accounts from the old company to the new one. Disable their old accounts on the old company.

Good feature request for Multi-Company mate.

Because the import utility is a plugin and ran under Company Settings, you can import data into multiple companies.

 

So, you could theoretically dump your live database and import into 2 new temporary databases.. then edit each of these to remove clients you don't want in one or the other. Then, you can import from each of these databases from the proper company in v3.
