Blesta Softaculous Install Problem

Softaculous refuses to install Blesta unless the DNS for the FQDN (subdomain or domain) is already pointed at the server. So you can't dev it privately, then launch when ready. That's a problem.

I've never seen this with any other installer, so I'm more likely to believe it's a Blesta issue, and not a Softaculous issue.

How can you say it's a Blesta issue when your doing it on a third party mate? You said it refuses to do it so go to them and complain. Or do it yourself (manually) and see if it refuses to install, then say it's a Blesta issue. http://www.softaculous.com/board/

I'm going to close this as I don't believe it's a Blesta issue but a third party and if you want to feel free to re-open one with more information as stated on: http://www.blesta.com/forums/index.php?/topic/738-read-first-how-to-report-a-bug/

I thought I'd chime in on this even though it's closed.

The restriction sounds like it was placed by Softaculous, whether or not they do this for anything else I don't know. However, if the subdomain you install Blesta under does not exist yet it is possible that your trial license would have to be re-issued. This is especially true if you access the install by IP or some other hostname/subdirectory and then later set up the subdomain.

In your case I would suggest a manual install. It's pretty straight forward, and should take no more than 15 minutes. See https://docs.blesta.com/display/user/Installing+Blesta
