Bloory reacted to Paul in IS the $750 Lifetime, really lifetime?
You can always open a ticket, or PM me your license key and I can check. We did not offer the lifetime license prior to releasing v3.0, and it has never been less than $500. Some people confuse an owned license with a lifetime license, owned licenses will continue to work indefinitely even if you don't purchase support & updates - you just wouldn't be able to upgrade or get support.

Bloory reacted to Tyson in Cannot add namecheap
When you save the credentials, the system tries to test the API by checking that the 'namecheap.com' domain exists by POSTing an API request to Namecheap with your credentials. However, Namecheap did not return an 'OK' response, or the system could not interpret the response. The module requires the libxml php extension to be enabled on the server, so you may want to double-check that it is.

Bloory reacted to Paul in How well does Blesta work with DirectAdmin?
Use the version here. There's not an automated migration, typically you'll need to create new packages and replacement services but you can uncheck the "Use Module" option when adding the DA service so that it doesn't try to create it through your server. Then edit the service and make sure the username is correct and if not, adjust and save again with "Use Module" unchecked.

Sure, I understand what you're saying... but hosting requires a domain name. It's not an option. You have to have one. Every single customer also has to purchase/transfer/renew a domain name.
And if they don't do their domains through us.. then they'll do it through godaddy, namecheap or some other popular company that also offers hosting along with domain stuff.
In other words... if you're a hosting provider and you also aren't offering domain names to your customers... you're basically pushing them into the arms of another company who is practically guaranteed to be constantly trying to upsell hosting to your customer.
Why would you do that?
It's a little bit like an oil change place for cars. Sure, you can create a business that sells ONLY oil change. Nothing else. But why? Not only can you make extra money selling things like transmission oil change, light bulb replacement, engine cleaning, etc... but if you don't.. the potential customer is forced to go somewhere else... and that other place is also going to sell oil changes. Pretty soon your customer will decide it's simpler/easier to just bring their car to one place instead of two.
I do not view hosting and domain management as two different services. They are two essential services in the same industry that go together. We don't just sell "hosting"... We sell hosting "service". And that includes domain name stuff, since it's absolutely required for every hosting customer.
I have the same opinion about SSL certificates.... Any "hosting" billing app that doesn't include full featured SSL sales/management is not designed well. Why would you purposely not sell a service that will force your customer to find the arms of a different lover?

@Electric - this is the sort of software you will like. (Hello from over there, still plodding on).
I understand about some of the functionality not being available and I know for your business this functionality will be a deal breaker. But when it comes... rock solid code, a nice (slightly different) way of working and solid, friendly suppport.

Bloory reacted to a.daniello in Namecheap Module - Update
Here is a little update of Namecheap Module, with:
- added support for a Promotion Code (coupon) (providers, as WebHostingBuzz, offers a Namecheap coupon to their reseller);
- fixed of fields related to specific TLD (e.g. ".eu", ".ca",... requires additional fields in order);
- fix of a misspelling (EN).

Bloory got a reaction from Michael in Uk State "york" - Yorkshire?
Expect the list to change over the next couple of years, the cuts made to council funding means that more county and district/borough councils will become unitary authorities. Having said that, Royal Mail don't use the county in addressing any longer. Postcode lookup would be great but a licence would be required and they are not particularly cheap

An other example: we have online selling and phone selling. All customers sorted by different client group. We want to analyze which way more effective in sells. It is very useful option in reporting for analyzing and marketing.

Bloory reacted to Bit Bayou in Client Facebook Login Access
I needed something similar recently, so I thought I'd share. I feel it's not yet a complete plugin because it does not allow for Blesta account creation through Facebook graph information, but it is a working addon to allow Blesta clients to login by connecting through Facebook.
This addon requires the Shared Login plugin.
You will need to either create a new Facebook App or have the APP ID and APP SECRET of an existing one. You can manage your Facebook apps at https://developers.facebook.com/apps
Once set up
Clients will first be redirected to Facebook to authorize the app to view their email address. If the email address registered with their Facebook account is also the username of their Blesta account, the client will then be redirected back to your Blesta Portal automatically logged in to their account.
Quick Instructions
Download facebook-login.zip Edit facebook-login/index.php via Notepad or other text editor Upload facebook-login/ folder (does not need to be in the Blesta plugins folder) Link to facebook-login/index.php for client login Complete instructions can be found at http://docs.bitbayou.com/blesta/facebook-login

If you haven't, I'd suggest opening a ticket in their helpdesk to contest it. If the banning moderator responds, ask for it to be escalated to SoftwareReview. A permanent ban for that post seems ridiculous, especially since you have nothing to gain monetarily. (It's a free plugin!!) Maybe you should have mentioned that you wrote the plugin for full disclosure, but a perma ban for that seems absurd.. unless there were other reasons involved in their decision.
Here's my suggestion to everyone who participates on WHT:
1. Follow their rules.
2. If you feel you've been unjustly targeted or given an infraction because of a post, open a ticket in their helpdesk and contest it. (I have opened a ticket every time I received an infraction, and have had one reversed)
3. If you see other people self promoting or not following the rules, report those posts. (I have reported posts made by our competitors for self-promotion, and their posts have been removed)
The moderators at WHT believe they are enforcing the rules fairly. In most cases, they probably are, but because of our competitions long history and position in the market they are favored.
WHT even promoted a thread for one of our competitors beta release announcements. They have never given us the courtesy.
Things are changing, but it takes time. We're going to do all we can do, and continue to make Blesta better.
Don't be intimidated, if you have something to say, say it! Just make sure you follow the rules.

Bloory reacted to Steven in While I Was Working On An Importer...
Ken,
I am not quite sure why you feel this is a publicity stunt. If you truely believe that I don't think you have done any real research.
Rack911 has been in the server management field for 10 years. Patrick and Mysql have collaborated on vulnerabitiles we found in the work we have done for years.
Earlier this year Patrick became a full time employee of Rack911, and we set out to help vendors have more secure products, after years of seeing security holes sit unpatched or patched silently.
We work very hard at what we do, and what we do creates results. It is not a publicity stunt, if we make results.
This list here: http://osvdb.org/affiliations/2667-rack911 wasen't created over a weekend. There is hundreds of probono hours here, and this only the stuff that is public.

Bloory reacted to electric in Easier Order Forms
It's difficult, because the developers surely want to create an order system that works with lots of different scenarios.
However, for us, that vast majority of our customers have very very basic needs and so something that is extremely simple is necessary (critical).
1. Customer searches for domain name.
2. If new domain name, then choose the big "BUY NOW" button. If domain exists, then ask if they own it and want to transfer it. Otherwise, redisplay the search box, and also maybe show suggested names. Repeat as necessary until eventually they have selected a domain name, and we continue.
3. Show all the hosting plans and ask the customer to pick the one they want. Customer chooses the plan, and we continue.
4. Ask the customer what billing cycle they want for the hosting plan. (Monthly, bi-annual, yearly, etc)
5. Done. Press "Pay Now", and complete payment process.
NOTES
A. All of this should be on ONE page that uses basic AJAX to refresh, and has tally in the top-right area. Each "section" of the order process (domain selection, hosting selection, billing term selection) is displayed as a new area below the previous section.
B. If you want to allow addons to be ordered during initial order process, then they can be displayed as part of step 3, depending on the plan they select. Again, keep it all on the same page. Simple is better. (We actually don't even allow customers to pick addons during their intial order, because it was way too confusing for them to see so much stuff they had no idea if they needed or not. It often prevented them from completing the order, which is against basic good business, right? So now, we simply let them pick their domain and hosting plan and that is it. AFTER they complete their order, they can then add addons from within their customer account client area. By then, they already paid, and are "invested" into things, as opposed to being overwhelmed and not completing the order.
I hope that helps. If you are looking for some good examples, check out Hostbill's order pages. They have some amazing order screens and processes that we found to be very nice.

Hi
I'm wondering if the order flow could be altered to make it easier for clients to buy a domain with their hosting please?
Or, is it me? https://clients.coolhost.co/plugin/order/main/signup/shared-linux
