Demo Dummy Data

0xff

Question

Hi to everyone,

I downloaded the latest version and installed on my localhost, everything was smooth, but what I found is, that there is no demo or dummy data in it. I understand this, but I think it would be nice to have some features enabled, just like in the demo.blesta.com.

I tried to download a backup from http://demo.blesta.com/admin/settings/system/ but it failed with a permission error.

Does anybody has any backups of their systems which can share? Obviously without sensitive info in it.

Or maybe somebody from blesta.com could share the demo.blesta.com backup, that would be great for newcomers.

Thank you.

And is there a way to get hold of that database? The /admin/settings/system/ is disabled I think due to security / usability.

Nope and I don't believe Blesta should provide it because it's got an admin account and the security hash which encrypts the passwords.

Why not just make a client, and backup the database not hard mate.

I see, but the passwords are known they are in plain http://www.blesta.com/demo/

I am talking about the possibility to have some dummy or demo data / settings after you installed blesta. So a newbie can start to poke around, and see which setting / feature what it does. A lot of CMS systems ask for it during install. I and I think a lot of ppl, would like  to have a similar option in blesta.

Not for Pauls admin only the two accounts made by default for people to log in. You can just make dummy accounts and products and whilst your doing it you can learn how it works.

That reminds me, I need to update the demo.

We cannot provide the database for the demo, it wouldn't work without modification anyway, and it's a bit out dated. It's likely we will be populating the demo automatically using a utility to seed in artificial, but realistic data. This utility would likely be available to the public.
