niyo reacted to Paul in Why Is Blesta Called Blesta?
Actually, that about sums it up. (Check out that happy face in our logo) Though I originally came across the name "Blesta" using a random word generator.

We wanted a unique name that we could build a brand around. blesta.com was available when I came across the name and it went on my short list. A few days later I went to register the domain and it was taken . I went through hundreds of more names and didn't like any of them, and for a kick I did a whois on blesta.com again. It was available! Someone bought the domain, and then returned it during the grace period. I had never seen that happen before or since. It was meant to be!

Dont be that guy you are an excelent person (i only know you in foruns), and wen you try to defend blesta, people look at you as someone that cant be reliable (thats what i think personaly )
Drink a coffee, and then think a litle before you "attack us"
Like you and everyone know i love blesta, i only want to help blesta to grow
Well im going to drink a coffee now because i have a lot of modules and plugins to upgrade.
P.S- dont compare blesta softaware with something that naja7host as done in is free time and for free for every one.

Hey guys- New user here- I discovered Blesta on Friday and quickly signed up after about a month of debating on how I am going to manage my growing client's hosting. We primarily focus on fully-managed solutions and optimized hosting solutions and I have been looking for a highly configurable, but usable out of the box solution, that really doesn't automate everything (as we're a hands on web dev company) but had the capability, and this is it! I spent the weekend plugging in my clients, linking my Stripe account, building service plans, etc, and best of all, personalizing the client dashboard and login screen (I've modded the admin a bit, but really not necessary). I am a front-end developer with a lot of CSS experience and basic PHP experience... enough to tweak and move stuff around comfortably, but I don't program. Here is the result of my personal integration for my clients.

Basically- I widened the template, removed all of border radius' and shadows, removed the chunky top sections, modified the client_main_myinfo to incorporate a photo (which is static for now, my programmer will make that account specific, set by the admin, in the weeks to come) and rearranged some of the functions, and basically changed the font and colors on everything.

This is just a start- We're going to run client account info down the left as part of main_myinfo, and tweak it a bit more. We'll eventually modify the package order forms before we roll out the ability to sign up from our website. We also do graphic/print work, so we may modify the support system to allow for requests that include text fields and drop downs for graphic type products (ie. asking the client what type of product, what size, what amount, etc)

I am not happy with my CSS mods of the login page, it will likely change. It looks nice, but it's not perfect.

I've really enjoyed modifying Blesta- the php and css is very clean and easy to work with!

    See attached. Feedback greatly appreciated!

    Craig

This thread's a bit old but I wanted to show my solution. I am using a transactional email provider to send all my mail from Blesta. At the moment I am using Mandrill as it integrates well with my MailChimp account and is free for 12,000 emails/month (dedicated IP costs extra). I may try other providers later though such as SendGrid, Postmark, Mailjet, Postage, SocketLabs or Amazon SES. Mandrill keeps a log of email sent, and allows you to resend any of it. For a small cost ($0.02 per thousand emails) I can keep up to 30 days of logs. I can see a log of all the links sent out, who clicked each email and which emails have been opened. There are lots of other reasons for using a provider like this.

Anyone using resell.biz to register domain their customer's domain names, and they want to add domain privacy to the order, they can do it by using the "options" feature.
    Goto 'packages' 'options'
Create a package group named: Domain Privacy
Create a package option named: Domain Privacy
In the 'Value' box add: purchase-privacy=true
Add the option to your group and save.

Finally, update the domain package by adding the Domain Privacy Group under 'configurable options'
    Done
When the customer checks the domain privacy option box during the order process an arrow will show up on the order form under the domain name that is being ordered. It will have the additional price for privacy.

    Hi,

I'd like to set up gantt charts that I can change and edit per client while logged into Blesta. I'd like to be able to edit the names of each row and have the columns be dates. I'd also like to have my clients be able to see these as they are in progress, kind of like the way the documents section lets people see and download their documents (only without downloading).

I think this is more of a plugin request. I don't know I posted this in the wrong place. But I'd really love to have this feature available.

    Thank you!

As some know I've been pretty active around here lately in offering custom development and just overall solutions that either fill a niche or a growing need.  While I love programming in Python, my roots started in PHP and I still use the language to this day.

Now I'm offering custom development for every and anyone here.  Past, current and future are welcome to reach out to me.  You can see some of my work here: https://github.com/anzenehansen/Blesta-Goodies

While I like to offer what I develop to everyone, its not a requirement and I can release the product only to you.

    WHAT YOU GET:
Premium development and direct communication An account to our project management system so you can monitor our progress Continued support after development is done* Updates either at request or when we reach a milestone in the project PRICES
This is always the stickler for people, and my company understands that.  We started our business to help other small businesses without stretching their bank.  Heck, we're bootstrapped from the core up ourselves.

Our pricing is flexible and depends more on the project.  We do ask for 10% down up front though, and charge hourly (another reason why we give you an account to our project management system, so you know what you're paying for).  The hourly rate is typically around $10/hour.

As a note though, require the invoice to be paid before providing the finished product.  We are, however, happy to provide screenshots or other proof.

Currently we only accept PayPal for payment.

    HOW?
As our website is currently under development the best way to enquire about this is to contact plugin-dev@anzensolutions.com and our team will get in touch with you.  If you need to provide attachments or the like, then please email the ticket # to me (ehansen@anzensolutions.com) along w/ the attachments as we do not allow them currently through Blesta.

I'm not sure if this is a bug report or feature request.

If someone places an order totalling 0.00 it shouldn't forward to the gateway page.

"Your order has been received, pending your payment below."

Instead it should just have some sort of order confirmation.

Also invoices totalling 0.00 should be marked as paid automatically and not have the option to be paid.

This should also allow free services to provision automatically if the order form doesn't require manual approval.

In fact I may even go as far as saying that invoices shouldn't even be generated at all for orders totalling 0.00 in some cases (i.e. freemium). Perhaps an option whether to generate invoice for free services under packages?

I know this has been mentioned in the support forum but I genuinely think it is the biggest needed feature request. The current order form system is so un user-friendly it is unbelieveable.

Currently if you want to order a domain and hosting:

    Check Domain
    Add To Cart
Add other item to get to the hosting
Re-Add that domain name to the hosting account you want to buy
    Checkout

So in other words I have to tell Joe public that after adding a domain to their cart they then have to click add more items to get to the shared hosting?! This is the most ridiculous way of doing it and it could be simplified greatly.

    How it should be:

    Select domain
    Add to cart
Select hosting package required (Or not hosting package required option)
If a hosting package is selected, auto populate the domain field
    Checkout.

Anyone else with me on this?

I have for some time to now an ideia for an APP for Windows Mobile, Android and IOS(Mac/IPhone/IPad) and its really very simple (after we buil an mobile theme for Blesta lol).

Every APP (not games) is almost written in Javascript + HTML5 + CSS + XML (sometimes php + sql) with remote commands to a server

A great exemple that we use is this APP:   Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.hetzner.robot_mobile IOS: https://itunes.apple.com/pt/app/robot-mobile/id482005451?mt=8   This app only call a remote webpage in here: https://robot-mobile.your-server.de/   We can easelly build an APP for each plataform using for exemple:   http://unity3d.com/ (best of the best on deploying easy and fast cross plataform applications and also games)   http://www.appcelerator.com/ (Also a great and free plataform, but it is more dificult to deploy a cross plataform)   http://phonegap.com/ (Anoiuther great plataform to build cross plataform mobile APP's)   Now the biggest challanging is Time (we dont have time now eheh  )

Blesta doesn't need it set-up but some times PayPal kicks a fuss.
