silvatech reacted to NetworkJack in Https Everywhere
If you are like us, the only supported protocol for accessing Blesta is via https. To that end, all links sent in emails should have https based links instead of the default http

Here is a quick SQL call to make that happen without having to go into the interface and change each email template manually:

UPDATE `emails` SET `text`=REPLACE(`text`, 'http:', 'https:'), `html`=REPLACE(`html`, 'http:', 'https:')

Sadly, any licenses I had with license cart a long time ago I got rid of. As i soon found out talking with him on Skype that he is an immature young adult. In fact reading and seeing how he is handling this situation shows it. Clear sign to me was when I had a difference of an opinion with him on a WHT thread and he blocked me off of Skype. I hope whoever emailed me about taking over his company today Mike did not rip off on buying his company.

    Hello
We are using WHMCS from 2006.last last year 2015 we try Blesta and yes! it was a great experience working with blesta. But blesta have some lack of their modules like Domain search and management option. We back WHMCS again just for domain management system.also it's bad intention for make money like WHMCS do. WHMCS can existing customer to renew always their Owned Unbranded.I lost faith with WHMCS+cPanel also leaving cPanel to ISPmanager for this reason.

Waiting for Blesta Domain manager then buy Owned Lifetime.

The way he said it is totally inappropriate and lacks respect, but shunning him for an opinion isn't right

I have a fairly large commitment towards Blesta (addon companies), but I can't actually use Blesta for what I need it to do. Do I want to use Blesta? YES. But right now, I'm stuck using WHMCS because of core components that Blesta will not get to until 4.1 at least.

The reason I can't use Blesta? Because it would take a lot more money to customize it and bring it up to speed, than it would be to simply use a competing product. And even then, it wouldn't be 100%

Let's be honest here guys, the development of Blesta is pretty slow. I'm not sure if the hope was that 3rd party developers would take up the slack, but there's been a really big mis-read on what your customers are using Blesta for, and what you think they should be using Blesta for.

I think WHMCS got their act together security-wise, finally. But I don't like their company, I don't like how cPanel runs things either (but use them for server software... because cPanel).

I really like Blesta, I met the Blesta guys at multiple Hostingcons, great guys, but Blesta needs to kick it up a notch if it wants to grow and put a dent in competitors' market-share.

I'm still rooting for Blesta, i haven't sold my license, and still pay for updates even if I don't use it. But I wish Blesta would really start focusing on what customers want to use Blesta for, how they use it, how many clicks it takes to get to something, intuitiveness, along with a whole bunch of other things, and start moving development resources towards those pain points first, and worrying a lot less about ancillary stuff.

Maybe even provide smaller, quicker updates. When a new feature is built and tested, ship it out. Stop waiting 3+ months to make bigger splashes with releases. You're a smaller company, who should be much nimbler than your bigger competitors. Use that to your advantage. You have the ability to pivot quickly and release things nearly as fast. I don't know why you don't do it.

Like someone once told me, it's fine to give out ideas and roadmaps about where you're going. It's the execution that counts, and few people can do that part well.

I don't really see the point of this thread, other than to try to discredit someone by ill means. I'm not sure what's worse, the accusation or writing fake reviews to begin with. In any case, we have no control over WHT or their policies, as has been evidence in other threads. Your best course of action is to try to resolve any issues you have with WHT/Penton directly.

This may or may not be an issue I just got an email from paypal that they are making changes. here is the email I received.

ACTION MAY BE REQUIRED: PayPal service upgrades for merchants.

Because we support our merchants in helping them grow their business, we continue to make significant investments and improvements to our infrastructure. These improvements sometimes require us to perform necessary service upgrades.
Please read below as we explain what the change is, and what action may be required by you.*
    What’s happening?
Over the course of 2015 and 2016, PayPal will be working towards upgrading various SSL certificates. The changes include upgrading the following:
The version of the VeriSign Trusted Root Certificate used to establish secure connections to PayPal. The signing algorithm of certificates (from SHA-1 to SHA-256). Why is this happening?
We’re taking measures to address industry-wide security concerns which aren’t unique to PayPal. When implemented, these measures can help us improve the security and reliability of our PayPal integrations and help guard against current and future security threats.
    When is this happening?
We’ve published the schedule of our service upgrade plan. Please check our 2015-2016 SSL Certificate Change microsite for the most recent updates as published schedules may change. Our efforts to upgrade SSL certificates for our production endpoints are scheduled to start in May 2015, and will continue into next year.
Please note – The Sandbox environment is ready for testing. Testing in the Sandbox environment is one of the best ways to make sure your integration works.
What do I need to do?
For information regarding the important details of these upgrades, how it may impact your integration, and what you must do to future-proof your integration, please refer to the Merchant Security System Upgrade Guide on the microsite.
*Please note – If you’re impacted by this upgrade, you may be required to implement these changes prior to the dates listed on the microsite. Otherwise, you may not be able to process payments through your current integration with PayPal. In addition, if you’re integrated with a third party, please check with them on any additional steps you may need to take.
Questions can be directed to our Merchant Technical Services team on our Technical Support website. Click here for more information.
Thanks for your patience as we continue to improve our services.

If you really want to save the most money. I would buy the license from license cart and purchase your hosting separately. quick look it looks like he has it on sell for $7.30. Way I see it couple bucks back in your pocket may not sound like much, but in course of a year its 24 bucks. Just be for warned on the terrible music he is playing on the coupon page.

I don't see a reason for Blesta to waste time on a module already done. Not only is it counterproductive and keeps much other needed development from getting done. It would discourage developers to work up modules for Blesta.

If you think modules are free in WHMCS you are in for rude awakening. I have seen far more free support from the community here. 3rd party mopdules are not supported by WHMCS either.

Would help I knew where your getting stuck at, but I had a different issue with similar bugs. Try in cpanel if you have "select php version". If you do I would set it to native. Before setting it note what version it was set at incase you have to go back.

I am a little confused here as 5 minute wait on cron is standard in the industry. Some of the larger providers actually endup setting it to 15 minutes on allocation.

I love this idea, as for an example , if lets say a hacker happens to find out one of your employees logins this prevents that individual from stealing peoples information as easily.

Paswords not viewable to me is just a must, customer can have it reset instead. To me it is a common practice everywhere but the web hosting industry.
