kikloo got a reaction from Paul in 500 Internal Server Error At Installation
    Hi,

Yesterday @licensecart helped me a lot in installing and configuring the blesta on my server. He went to extra mile and did all the setup and configure things quickly for me and also taught me how to review pending domains etc. I highly appreciate his help. He is an asset to blesta. Now I got it running, just need something clearning:

    1. I added the cron and it automatically applied credits to invoice, I don't want that to happen. (a) how do i undo that ? ( how do i stop that from happening in future ?
    2. Does cron syncs domain expiry date of the domains from the registrar like whmcs does ?
    3. Why cron has to run every 5 mins ?

    Thanks.

    You're more than welcome mate.

Please go to: Settings > Company > Billing/Payment > uncheck "Automatically Apply Loose Credits"

How to un-apply credit on an invoice: http://screencast.com/t/j3vsiSQvZ

If the invoice is non paid it will get suspended, if you have "Cancel Service Changes Days After Due" on the above page it will cancel the service if not paid. if it is paid it will renew. I have heard that a few domain registrar modules don't have this function in it yet to renew so you can add it or do it manually for now. Sorry I can't find it on the forum PauloV did the edits I believe.

It's to ensure the server doesn't overload if you run it too fast and the cron may take a few minutes to run all the tasks.

Guys, the importer imports -1.00 price plans out for domains

WHMCS needs -1.00 to disable price tiers but Blesta imports them over and they come as a option. Need to prevent that

kikloo got a reaction from Blesta Addons in How Do I Invoice A Service Which Is Not Due Yet For Renewal ?
    Hi,

I am sure about how you use blesta but I sell domains and hostings to clients and resellers. Hence resellers keep credit with me so when they get an order for domain etc. they can just login, order the service and apply the credit to the invoice and their order is executed. But this is not happening in blesta as credit cannot be applied to the invoices. Same in the admin end. Now to your question:

I cannot use automatic credit applying because a client has 10 domains and 3 are expiring but he only wants to renew 1 and blesta has generated 3 invoices, blesta will apply credits to all, I don't understand this theory at all. Blesta will waste my credit on 2 other invoices which I never wanted to renew. Do you get my point ? This system works for single service, example: I have blesta license from you and I add credit and blesta keeps on renewing invoices using that credit, fine. What if i have multiple services say: 80 or 100 then what ? I don't want my credit to get applied to every invoice that is generated by blesta.

    I hope you understand now.

    Thanks.

Yes, I've moved it to the feature request forum.

PauloV's suggestion seems most feasible. The way renew dates are handled internally to Blesta cannot be changed, however the way they are displayed to customers would be much simpler to change.

I'm in agreement that it should be "displayed" in a way that makes sense to the customer.

I'm in agreement with everyone, the label "date renews" (and its variants) is incredibly confusing for end users, including ourselves. Now that the Blesta team have explained how it works it all makes perfect sense and is good design, but as PauloV said, those not in the know will only get confused. I'm going to take another approach. As Cody has explained that this is the date when the next invoice is due, I'm going to change the language files to say "Next due date" (like competitors do in their control panels). I think that the label is the issue here.
Unfortunately it is quite a few files to alter:
    \language\en_us\admin_billing.php \language\en_us\admin_clients.php \language\en_us\admin_search.php \language\en_us\client_services.php \plugins\order\language\en_us\admin_main.php \language\en_us\services.php

    Hi,

Its actually nothing to do with how blesta works. It should be how blesta should work for the people who pay for it. By the people I mean who are using it in lie environments. I am also facing this same issue. The clients are not dumb, they are over smart. They are clever. They would use every trick / excuse in the book not to pay. Software should work for us and not the other way around. Anyways, the point is that it would be wise / good that is blesta atleast shows the expiring date and not the renewed date to the client until the invoice is paid. That would solve the issues. Nobody wants to get into arguments with a client over issues like these. WHMCS in this case works fine. And blesta should simply extend the term instead of calculating. If service that is being charged monthly expires on 1-8-2014 and customer pays on 7-8-2014 then blesta should simply increment the date to 1-9-2014.

    Thanks.

We may add the ability to set some rules on usernames for the module, such as the length of the username, etc.. but it's not likely usernames will be able to start with a server identifier, though it's open to discussion.

Ultimately I find having usernames that are constructed from the domain are easier to find. If you know the domain, but not the username, you can find the home directory fairly easily. The case can be made that the username is easier for attackers to guess, but I haven't seen a direct correlation yet in brute force logs. Ultimately, you should assume that an attacker knows the username. Set a secure password, use some type of brute force detection with your firewall.

Well that's how I remake services before and they might have it soon but I don't think it's a high priority but it would be nice, when I was a host I used a third party which means the client had to enter the email address and agree that it's their responsibility to move it

Maybe when the time comes they will have that for both sides but we need more features first which are priority like: Mass mailer, Knowledgebase, etc.

Well if you're annoyed with WHM** please note Rome wasn't built in a day it will take time to get the modules / features WHM** has now which took them over 9 years, plus they have a big team, Blesta has 3 guys, WHM** has third party ModulesGarden making modules, which WHM** paid them well made an agreement not to do Blesta / HostB*** modules.

To move a service do it the old fashion way.

Click on the manage dropdown menu --> Cancel and then Untick use module. this will just cancel it on Blesta and not the module.

Then go to the real client create the service (Do not invoice) and then type in the domain / username and untick use module. Job done.

    Hi,

I found that why it happened it was a wrong date issue and blesta created a bunch of invoices for that also. Had to delete them manually.

    Thanks.

3.3 actually should be a smaller release than 3.2, but it does have some highly requested features. We hope to release a beta next month, but there's no official ETA.

    Hi,

I just made this quick domain sync (which updates reg. date and expiry date into the blesta database directly) php script which seems to be working fine for me, i am posting it here for anyone else's use:

    ITS FOR RESELLERCLUB ONLY

BEFORE YOU USE: BACKUP DATABASE , BACKUP DATABASE
    <?php $db_host = "localhost"; $db_name = "loremipsum"; // your blesta database name $db_username = "loremipsum"; // your blesta database username $db_password = "loremipsum"; // your blesta database password   $uid = "123456"; // your logic boxes or reseller club user id $key = "loremipsumloremipsumloremipsum"; // your logic boxes or reseller club api key   // ============================================ // No change is required after this point //============================================= $conn = mysql_connect($db_host, $db_username, $db_password) or die("Unable to Connect"); $db = mysql_select_db($db_name, $conn) or die("Unable to Select");     $q0 = "SELECT * FROM `service_fields` WHERE `key` = 'domain-name'"; $r0 = mysql_query($q0) or die("Query Failed: Get Domains");   while ($a0 = mysql_fetch_array($r0)) { $q1 = "SELECT * FROM services WHERE id_value = " . $a0["service_id"] . " LIMIT 1"; $r1 = mysql_query($q1) or die("Query Failed: Get Record"); $a1 = mysql_fetch_array($r1);   $domain = $a0["value"]; $url = "https://httpapi.com/api/domains/details-by-name.json?auth-userid=" . $uid . "&api-key=" . $key . "&domain-name=" . $domain . "&options=OrderDetails";   $handle = fopen($url, "rb"); $content = stream_get_contents($handle); $content = json_decode($content);   fclose($handle);   $regdate = date("Y-m-d H:i:s", $content->creationtime); $expdate = date("Y-m-d H:i:s", $content->endtime);   $q2 = "UPDATE services SET  date_added = '" . $regdate . "', date_renews = '" . $expdate . "' WHERE  id = " . $a1["id"] . " LIMIT 1"; $r2 = mysql_query($q2) or die("Query Failed: Update Exp. Date for " . $domain); }   echo "Done"; ?> Its a quickly done script which has nothing to do with blesta, just put in the required details, upload an run once. It will update all your domain's reg / expiry date.

    Thanks.

You only need 1 cron, and can set the schedule for all tasks under Settings > Company > Automation.

Invoice generation happens once a day at the time specified in the Automation settings.
