niyo got a reaction from Franz in Logical Order Forms For Domains And Hosting
Blesta markets itself as "The Billing Software Platform for Hosting Providers" so i don't think improving the experience for shared hosting is too much to ask. It's a super product for VPS and dedicated servers. Actually I think its the best billing system period for literally anything other than shared hosting.
Anyway this should hopefully sum up the desired user flow but anyone else can chime in to improve it if I've missed anything.
The next step would be to figure out how that translates to the UI. The primary problem with current UI is there is no option for admins to add context e.g. with tooltips or field descriptions. this is fine for smart users but shared hosting users aren't always technically inclined.
The current problem is if a customer uses paths A or B there is no easy way to get to C if they don't already have a domain. Nor is it clear that they need to get a domain. This is the main cause of confusion that many admins have been hoping to be changed in this forum.
Currently landing on a package with pricing gives the configurable options box for domain. one proposal could be to have 3 radio selects below the domain. 1 that allows the customer to use the domain they've already registered and is the equivalent to how just pressing continue currently works, another that allows the customer to transfer a domain (not as important but its a nice extra) and finally one that will search for the domain. Radio selects would allow for more elaborate language but if someone can think of concise ways of getting the point across then buttons may be better.

niyo got a reaction from Blesta Addons in echo package group description in a service tab
Hi Jono, thanks for your help. It is definitely package group description i was after as i'm using the group as a product and the packages as tiers for that product. your solution only half worked since the module controller was already setting $this->view->set("package", $package->meta ); and it seemed i could only get one or the other working and not both.
I'l just have to find a developer to implement it for me since it seems it should be sufficiently straight forward for someone in the know. Hopefully @Blesta Addons reappears soon so i can hire him since he seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth.
Thanks again for your help ??

niyo got a reaction from avonni in Logical Order Forms For Domains And Hosting
This has probably been mentioned a million times before but please lets work on a way to streamline the process of ordering hosting and domains for newbies. Blesta is great for people in the VPS market and up because theres a level of assumed knowledge involved but for shared hosting users who tend to be less technically inclined the process is convoluted.
There are a lot of things i like about the blesta user flow and user experience but there are also a lot of areas that need desperate work.
My customers tend to order hosting without realising they also need a domain name. The current problem is there's no way to add explanations for stages of the order process i.e. tooltips or field descriptions etc.
My original work around was to edit a language file so the placeholder in the domain field in the cpanel module mentioned a long sentence but thats just stupid for placeholder text.
The best example of a logical order form for hosting and domains is the Vertical Steps order form on WHMCS. It makes sense and anybody with half a brain can follow it regardless of whether you link directly to the package or not.
I know the whole domain movement is set for 4.1 but I really hope you take into account order forms for this to be a truly viable product. So that entails logical order forms designed with ux in mind and the ability to add descriptions or tooltips to fields and or add descriptions to stages of the order process.

niyo got a reaction from brianlv3 in [Module] cPanel Extended Module for Blesta (Broken)
Hi, urgent fix needed please. i was excited for the update because you got rid of the need to enter a password during the order process, however it seems you aren't generating a password behind the scenes when the password field is disabled as the following error happens: "Password must be at least 8 characters in length."
thanks

niyo reacted to Tyson in Usual Cost Of Module Development?
I'd say to expect 30-40 hours to develop a basic-to-intermediate functional module for someone somewhat familiar with modules in Blesta but unfamiliar with your integration API. That would include research (e.g. reading API docs), communication (back/forth with you on required features before/during/after deployment), development, and testing. Add 15-20% for additional features/changes that will likely arise before completion.

when a client open a tiket , and a staff make a response, client make a response , the status is open .
is better to add new status , waiting staff response .. that way the client know the ticket waiting other's response,
the actual scenario , the client should always enter the ticket to see there is a new update .

niyo reacted to Blesta Addons in We Have Moved !
we have used blesta from the beta release 1 , we have used it and it was simple and what we need , some features we have created a standalone page that we have used to do our jobs , like move services/invoices/transactions between clients .
after release of v3 , we have been happy to see it and it features and the most important 2 factors was "open source" and "security" , we have adapted some modules and plugins to that version , but have not upgraded for some internal decision and cases . after 2 years of watching and seeing what happen , we have finally decided to move, 6 months of test and test and test , we have decided today to move .
we have used blesta and some our custom plugins to build a new website fronted and billing , that we will release some of them .
- Multi-Languages Plugin , convert blesta to a true multi-languages site (urls & navigation links) . we will release it soon .
- blesta Hosting CMS (we will not release it , sorry )
- Cart Menu Plugin, display cart and content in any blesta page . we will release it soon .
- Hosting Order template , the only true hosting order template , we will release it soon .
Now is time to watch and see the bugs/errors that can occur . and fix them .
after i will dedicate a more time to help in blesta plugins/modules .

niyo reacted to Blesta Addons in [Logicboxes] Ftao: Tyson :d
soon i will release a new version for this module, if blesta staff want to merge the two module , no probleme for me , i give him the full right to do it .
i also see usig the order-id to identify the domain is a big mistake . the domain should be identified by the domain not by a number !!!!

niyo got a reaction from jobplease in Hosting With Domain Registration Add On
Hey Paul, thanks for the reply, but ordering just domains isn't the issue the OP or I have. The problem is ordering domains with hosting. Please see below:

thanks

niyo reacted to barryf in Changing Blesta Logo
I use a slightly different technique, so that even on a clean new Blesta install where the end user has not changed the therme.
In my apache config I use the following:
Alias /app/views/admin/default/images/logo.png /blesta/common/images/logo.png Alias /app/views/client/default/images/logo.png /blesta/common/images/logo.png ...this basically over-rides the default images with my own, but if the user changes the logo in the theme then theirs is used. -Barry -

Yes...I see the documentation about the Root Web Directory pertaining to sub-domains was just updated and that helps.

niyo reacted to CyberHour in Just Thought I'd Drop This Off Here (Hint: V4 Peek)
I actually like the new backend design. Personally we don't need mobile version of the backend since we are all using devices of 2015+ with 5inc+ display so we are fine with it. What we would like to see is affiliate system. The lack of affiliate system is big drawback ..
Anyway I wish we get affiliate system in v4.1 in the 2nd Q of 2016.
Best Regards,
CyberHour

niyo got a reaction from Michael in [2Fa] Backup Code
if i remember correctly i also had it when it came out but can't be certain. it's in their docs too...

Love the clouds and the video presentation
You could use one more color insted only using blue and white for exemple for the Online Chat, the green would be great
Anouther thing, is that your website is very "heavy" in JS, maybe you should optimese your code a litle or some devices will strugle to load and run the javascript functions.
Also there is an error, its trying to load /wp-content/themes/scribe/css/style.php?ver=4.4.2 but it dosent exists
Hope that helps

I'd been sitting on the clip of the presenter for the past three months and finally got around to editing it over the last week although it took slightly longer than i would've liked.
You can check the video on my homepage here:

Let me know what you think. And while you're there any feedback on the website is welcome although need to get round to finishing the Blesta integration but it works for the time being.
Thanks

Thanks guys
Lol, the comment about confusion was in jest, it was a poke at the hosting industry in general lol. there was a section where she talked about our packages but i ripped it out cuz she nailed it in a different take and there were some errors in the take i used despite it being the best overall. I'll be incorporating it into a second video later in the week though =]
