If I remember correctly default cPanel does use cpanel_confirm_password, but it's not important as you discovered. I think it's used for password changes. I moved from tasty to extended in a similar way a couple days ago. Good thing about extended is it uses the same keys as default so if it does go tits up you'd only need to swap out module_row_id

Well you are right here, I turned to Blesta following the latest v6.0 release. I've got a dev license setup and the hype is not living up to expectations.

I am a prime example of this. I ended up just renewing my support and updates with WHMCS early to lock in the lower price only because Blest doesn't offer what I need right now while WHMCS offers pretty much all the features I need out-of-the-box. I will visit again before the next renewal to see the progress of this in Blesta, fingers crossed this is the final year of us using WHMCS.

niyo reacted to Prime Media in Blesta: Over A Year And Still Lacking Features...
So I purchased a Blesta license before v3 was released. Was very excited and was ready to move my entire business over, but then found out that a lot of the features we use were missing that made me change my mind. So I thought I'll try again sometime in the future after Blesta matures a bit more.

The recent price increase by a competitor software was a push to reconsider Blesta again. But I am very disappointed at the progress! In recent times I've found our domain business is doing really well and now accounts for almost 40% of all sales. But the Blesta module for eNom has not been touched in years. I remember this being the main reason why we didn't switch. Fast forward a year +, and this is again the deal breaker for us.

The eNom module is very limited and lacks very basic domain registration and management features, not enough for a business that has a growing domains division that accounts for 40% of all sales.

Being a UK based company that manages a lot of .UK domains it still lacks more specific API field requirement options as well. It has already been raised and feature request submitted by another user over a year ago:
    http://www.blesta.com/forums/index.php?/topic/1990-enom-couk-registrations/
    http://www.blesta.com/forums/index.php?/topic/2626-orguk-domains/
As you can see, no official reply posted and feature request has not been acknowledged.

In the meantime, a competitor is really improving their domain / eNom module because they have already identified that domains are becoming big especially with hundreds of new gTDLs already released and more in the pipeline.

Furthermore, they are adding NEW features. Features such as "Claim Your .UK" addon, domain name spinner, etc. etc. But Blesta development seems to have other plans and priorities lie elsewhere.

This post isn't meant to be a complaint but rather the main reason why we are not using Blesta. It's competitor seems to be one step ahead. I keep on reading on other forums how Blesta is the best software and has ALL the features now but really we shouldn't kid ourself, it still is lacking some basic stuff, especially domain registrar modules.

I'll come back again in a years time and see whats changed and if theres any new developments.

First Look to cPanel Extended v6.0
We are in the final stretch, only 4 days left until the end of the crowdfunding campaign, you can still make your contribution to support the development of this module and get your cPanel Extended license up to 50% cheaper than the final selling price. Or you can even get the unencoded version (without ionCube) exclusively from the crowdfunding campaign at FundRazr ________________________________________________________________________________________
    Crowdfunding Campaign

Due to the Blesta updates and the constant changes of the cPanel API, the module has been broken down over time.
I have received several messages here in the forum commenting on various problems they are having with the module.
In addition to this, several bugs and even security issues have been found, many of these directly inherited from the old cPanel Extended from ModulesGarden code that was released under the MIT license.
As a solution to all these problems, we consider that the best option is to completely rewrite from scratch the module using the latest cPanel SDK (Authentication by Tokens) and the latest development standards. (PHP 7 and PSR-2)
The process of rewriting a module as complex as cPanel Extended is a very time-consuming process, so it requires the development team to be full-time involved in its development to ensure a quality and safe product. This is one of the reasons why we are raising funds, in order to finance the time that will be spent on development.
Because cPanel Extended is a totally free, ad-free and open source module, it does not represent any monetary income for us, so it is complicated for us to schedule specific time to maintain the module, therefore we decided to make the next version, a paid module, in order to afford the time of development and maintenance and avoid abandoning the module.
Although cPanel Extended will now be a paid module, we will release a completely free "cPanel Extended Lite" version, with all the functions of cPanel Extended v5 (But without bugs :p), Also by supporting the financing of cPanel Extended, you will also be helping to the free version receive the same maintenance and development as the paid version.
What if we don't reach the goal? If we do not reach the campaign goal within 30 days, all the backers will receive a refund.
If you want to support the development of cPanel Extended, you can see more about our crowdfunding campaign here:

    cPanel Migrator Plugin
During the course of the campaign, several users have reported various problems with cPanel Extended v5, from simple bugs to problems that impede the correct running of the business.
We know how important it is to have a reliable tool and fully functional in a business, to avoid problems with the customers. Since cPanel Extended v5 no longer meets the security and reliability requirements to be used in a business, we have developed cPanel Migrator, a simple plugin for Blesta that allows you to migrate temporarily all the packages, services and servers from cPanel Extended v5 to cPanel core, until the new version of cPanel Extended is released.    The tool can be downloaded free of charge from the following link: https://github.com/CyanDarkInc/plugin-cpanel-migrator/archive/master.zip  ________________________________________________________________________________________

Hi, I literally spent weeks thinking the logging functionality was broken.

When you are in the admin gui, and go to tools -> logs, I think it's really confusing(and a VERY easy fix).

Here's an example -- if you look at "Modules" (assuming you have one, if not choose "Gateways" or something else).

If you click on the anchor text for the "Name" of the log item(e.g. "Stripe in Gateways"), it takes you to the stripe management page(e.g. /admin/settings/company/gateways/manage/1/).

I have literally clicked this hundreds of times trying to figure out where the logs actually were!!!

By accident, I clicked in the blank space.. and there was a collapsible div with the log data. Simply adding a font awesome expander icon in the blank space would help(e.g. http://fortawesome.github.io/Font-Awesome/3.2.1/icon/expand/ or http://fortawesome.github.io/Font-Awesome/3.2.1/icon/expand-alt/ or http://fortawesome.github.io/Font-Awesome/3.2.1/icon/arrow-down/).

Alternatively(I think this makes more sense), change the destination link for the anchor text to expand and show the logs, and add a (configure) link next to it that goes to the manage step.

Just a suggestion -- this was extremely frustrating for me and I really thought it was a bad product and the logging wasn't functional.

niyo reacted to Blesta Addons in Unique Cart For All Orders Forms
This days i way discovering how the order forms / cart  work . and i have discovered (at least for me and my staff and my clients testers)  a big problem in the cart system .

so if we have 3 order forms let say

    1 for vps
    2 for dedicated
    3 for hosting .

the client has make a order of 1 vps, and has not completed the checkout ; then he ordered 1 dedicated and hosting , no checkout at here .

when he decide to complete the order , here we have the problem , the cart is not containing the 3 order services . and to complete the order he need to go to order form link and make checkout for every service . that for us/him is a huge and buggy work .

so we decided to make our own call to the cart basket to see what are in it . and we have surprised , what blesta do is storing the cart item in the sessions, and every item with their ids and some more data . at here all thing is fine . but the surprise for us was that blesta disting with every order form cart  .

what we suggest is that the cart/basket should be for all order forms . the solution for us was use 1 order form for all . but we prefer use some list or ajaxed order form for a specific needs, and use styled order form for other services .

at the end , for me, it has no sense to have 3 carts sessions in one system for the same place !!!! either the other ecommerce platform use 1 cart like magento/open cart/prestashop ..ect ... i don't want to nominate competitors ...

licencecart , Relax   is just a discussion .

    Hello All ,

i will start in coding Quotes System plugin for the community , and i need some ideas feedbacks .

    1 - Why Quotes System ?

Quotes is something related to the productivite and add a plus for the admins , also all the big companies use it , also some companies that offer services (design, coding, mobile APP.... ) with hourly rate (like me) , and need every time send a qoute to the clients then the client accept we creat a invoice for them . i want to make this step as easy as possible .

2 - How much cost this new plugin ?

Is totally Free , but if you consider it worth , you can donate for it .

3 - Where expected to be released ?

first we need to make a simple Quotes system that do the trick , then we will extend it to do more functionality and task and maybe automated task , so the simple thing we begin with it the near future date is released .

    4 - what i have a TODO list ?

i have 2 TODO list , one if for the first release , and second is for next released versions .

i will group ideas based in the easy implementation and the basic feature.

    TODO list 1 :

    - Admins can add/edit/delete Quotes .(i'm not sure if i use close instead of delete)
    - Create Quote for the client .
    - Client can view Quote from the client panel .
    - Cleint can accept or reject the Quote .
    - Admins convert accepted Quote to invoice   not needed , as the system convert it auto .
    - client can view the quotes assigned to them (accepted or closed or rejected or expired)

    TODO list 2 :

    - cronjob to convert a accepted quote to invoice .
    - Clients can receive the quote via email as PDF , they can also download it as PDF. (implemented)
    - Comments both for client and staff under the qoute (threaded reply/conversation).
    - Devide Quote in two invoice after accept (for prepayment ,and after final work)
    - Create Quote for non clients , they can view it with a unique url .
    - Store Client info in the quotes for history .

    That is all .

any one has an idea to implement it , i will add it to my one of TODO list .

YES, Domain Management system, is what is the most missing, as by essence close to 90% in webhosting sector, just need it.

and when it will be done, all "success" and other registrar modules, will be following fine/quick.

niyo reacted to eXtremeSHOK in Sad State Of Domain Management And Blesta
Lets face the fact Blesta's domain management is TOTAL CRAP.. WHMCS and Clientexec do it way better in every way.

Blesta does NOT have a proper domain offering, period. seems to be that its just not a priority.

Domains are totally unique to generic products and should be treaded as such.

For webhosters, domains are part of hosting, the most important part.
The enom module for Blesta is 10 years behind that of WHMCS..currently we have the bare minimal basics.
What if one wants to only sell a domain ? Does not appear blesta support domain only products.
    Domain Transfers ?

Renew pricing ? Allot of domain renewals cost more than the initial registration fee

    Name spinning ?

Importing and sync of prices from enom & namecheap ?

Importing and sync of TLD's and new TLD's from enom & namecheap ?

What about .co.uk that requires a 90day before expire renew ?

Direct managment of the domain hosted on the registrars nameserver ?

Proper whois lookup or usage of dig to check if non api domains are registered/available ?

A domain email module, where domain orders are emailed, still does whois checking for availability. Some tld's are still stuck in 1970.

    Domain availability widget ?

^^ BLESTA FAILS FOR ALL OF THE ABOVE

    ---

I challenge Blesta to make a billing brawl using domain management and include enom's module...

btw if you want a reseller enom account, or access to the enom api sandbox , contact me and ill sort you out with an account.

I saw a request for a BrainTree payment gateway and remembered that while ago we whipped one up as we were contemplating using BrainTree.

This was tested with test credentials but we never actually tested it or used it live.. there may be issues/bugs/etc and unfortunately as we don't currently use Blesta nor will we be using BrainTree, we won't be working on it/supporting it any further. I am 100% okay with Phillips Data, inc. taking over the plugin if they want to as we extended their stripe one to begin with, anyway.  Or anyone else who wants to take over development on it is fine too.

Anyway, feel free to test it out and report back here what you find for other users. Hope some folks find some value in this.

It would be great to have integration with a CRM or have a plugin for one in Blesta. I'm envisioning being able to collect leads with web forms, email, live chat or phone. Make notes, communicate using the ticket desk, create quotes, etc. The lead should be able to click on the quote, accept it which will create their account service, etc in blesta.

This would allow us to work in one portal and keep information in one place rather than using 4 or 5 different, unsync'd systems.

I wonder if it makes sense to implement a simple quote system to start with. It would be similar to draft except:
Clients can receive the quote via email, paper, etc just like invoices The quote email would contain a link to Blesta where they can accept to the quote Accepting the quote will turn around an invoice. Depending on the work involved, some other terms could be accepted. For example, half to start, final half due upon completion. etc. Really it needs to be fleshed out more, but I think if we stick to the basics in an initial release, it will work for most people and not take a ton of dev time to implement.
